What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want players to spend time with this little farm as part of their everyday routine and help us understand what feels enjoyable and what gets in the way. During Early Access, we plan to refine the balance between farming, fishing, trading, and running the restaurant, while improving the experience of keeping the game on your desktop. Player feedback will help us prioritize balance changes and bug fixes. ”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect the game to remain in Early Access for approximately 3–5 months. The timing may change based on development progress and player feedback. We will share progress updates through Steam announcements.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version, we plan to build on the existing farming, fishing, market, and restaurant gameplay while refining progression, character animation, interaction feedback, guidance, and stability. Our goal is to make these activities work together more smoothly and improve the experience of keeping the farm as a desktop companion. The scope and priorities of updates may change with development progress and player feedback. ”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version includes growing crops and fruit trees, having Chestnut tend the farm, automatic fishing that uses bait, market trading, and running a restaurant. Players can harvest and sell produce, prepare dishes, and unlock content through progression. The game is still in development: balance, interaction details, and stability are being refined, and players may encounter bugs or unfinished elements. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently plan to keep the same base price throughout Early Access and at full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players are welcome to report issues and share their experiences in the Steam Discussions, or contact us through the support email listed on the store page. We plan to share development progress and update notes through Steam community announcements. Update priorities will take into account the impact of issues, player feedback, and development needs. ”

About This Game

Chestnut's Idle Farm is a pixel-art desktop idle management game. Grow vegetables, plant trees, and go fishing with Chestnut the cat. Take your harvest to market, then cook up a few dishes for the little animals stopping by for a meal. Keep the farm in a corner of your desktop while you work or study, and check in during a break to see what's ready to harvest—and whether Chestnut has secretly fallen asleep.

Go about your day—Chestnut has plans of his own. When there's work to do, he'll help tend the fields; when things are quiet, he'll curl up for a nap. Focus on your own tasks, then check on the farm and top up supplies when you have a moment. Let this little farm keep you company as you build it up at your own pace.

From a tiny sprout beneath the soil to acres of fields and a bountiful harvest, you've already come a long way. Now it's time to explore life on your very own farm. Buy plots, choose seeds, grow different vegetables and grains, and plant a few fruit trees nearby. Tend your crops yourself, or let Chestnut help with watering and harvesting. As your farming level rises, you can unlock automatic sowing so he can take on a little more of the fieldwork.

Try new crops and watch your fruit trees bear harvest after harvest. Sell what you grow or set ingredients aside for your recipes—the choice is yours.

Fishing section heading: “Fish Gone Wild”.

Add bait to your fishing rod, cast your line, and wait for a bite.

Put the produce you want to sell on display, and little animals will arrive by boat to shop. Watch them dock, come ashore, pick up their purchases, and sail away with their goods as your little harbor comes to life.

Restaurant section heading: “Explosively Delicious!”.

Browse your recipes, gather the ingredients you need, and turn your harvest into tasty dishes. Make a single serving or prepare several at once—the delicious aromas will soon draw in your animal guests.

Watch your guests enjoy their meals and your restaurant earn its keep. There are no foodie review scores or White Pearl awards here, but the food might just be explosively delicious!

Lizi bows in apology. The macOS and Linux / SteamOS releases are delayed because the developer currently has no machines running these systems. They will roll out gradually with updates during Early Access (EA). Thank you for your patience.
