Why Early Access?

“THE OCCULT PROTOCOL is built around highly interactive systems including paranormal investigation, entity identification, supernatural behavior, hunt sequences, specialized equipment, and banishment rituals. Early Access will allow us to test these systems through real player experiences and gather community feedback on balance, evidence readability, entity behavior, difficulty, and the overall pacing of investigations.

We want to develop the game alongside the community and use that feedback to refine and improve the core experience before the 1.0 release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Early Access to last approximately 12 to 18 months. This estimate may change depending on community feedback, the development of the planned features, and the level of quality we want to achieve before the 1.0 release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to gradually expand THE OCCULT PROTOCOL throughout Early Access. This may include additional locations to investigate, supernatural entities, evidence types, behaviors, rituals, and equipment.

We also intend to deepen entity behavior, improve the cooperative experience, increase investigation variety and replayability, and continue improving the user interface, accessibility, audio, animations, balance, and performance.

The goal for version 1.0 is to provide a richer, more balanced, and more polished experience while preserving the core investigation, identification, survival, and banishment gameplay loop.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the core gameplay loop of THE OCCULT PROTOCOL: exploring haunted locations, investigating and analyzing paranormal phenomena, identifying the entity, surviving its manifestations and hunt sequences, preparing the required equipment, and performing a ritual in an attempt to banish it.

The core systems are playable, but content, balance, and several aspects of the presentation are still in development. Some features, visuals, behaviors, animations, sounds, and settings may be changed or improved throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently plan to offer THE OCCULT PROTOCOL at a lower price during Early Access. The price may gradually increase as additional content and features are added, with a possible further adjustment when the game reaches version 1.0.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will play an important role throughout Early Access. We will monitor Steam discussions, bug reports, and feedback regarding balance, difficulty, evidence readability, entity behavior, rituals, equipment, controls, and performance.

We will pay particular attention to recurring issues and suggestions that can improve the overall experience. Player feedback will help us identify which areas of the game need the most attention and may influence development priorities on the road to version 1.0.

A Discord server may be offered at some point, but this is still under consideration.”

About This Game

THE OCCULT PROTOCOL is a paranormal investigation horror game playable solo or in online co-op. Explore haunted locations, gather evidence, identify the entity haunting them, survive its manifestations, and perform the ritual required to banish it.

Every investigation confronts you with a supernatural presence whose behavior must be understood. Observe your surroundings, use specialized equipment, and connect the phenomena you witness to uncover what is hiding there before the situation spirals out of control.

INVESTIGATE THE PARANORMAL

Use a range of investigation tools to detect anomalies, reveal hidden traces, and gather the evidence required to identify the entity.

No single clue tells the whole story. Analyze paranormal activity, compare your observations, and determine what is hunting you.

SURVIVE THE HUNTS

As supernatural activity intensifies, the entity becomes increasingly dangerous.

When a hunt begins, it can pursue you through the environment, remember your last known position, and search for you. Break line of sight, find somewhere to hide, and use the environment to stay alive.

PREPARE THE RITUAL

Identifying the entity is only the beginning.

Gather the required equipment, prepare the ritual area, and complete the different steps of the protocol to attempt to banish the presence for good.

Poor preparation may turn the ritual into your final mistake.

YOU ARE NOT DEFENSELESS

Some equipment can repel, slow, or temporarily incapacitate supernatural entities. Salt-loaded weapons, holy water, incense, and other occult tools may buy you the few seconds you need to survive.

But THE OCCULT PROTOCOL is not a shooter. Understanding what you are facing remains your greatest weapon.

Conduct investigations alone or work together with other investigators online. Divide your equipment, search for evidence, and coordinate when supernatural activity becomes uncontrollable.
