About This Content

Lion in front, goat in the middle, serpent at the back... the legendary monster of Greek mythology was never particularly suited to doing one thing at a time.

This DLC adds Chimera, the Monstrous Hybrid, a new playable Enchanter focused on status effects, aggressive movement, and having something dangerous pointed in almost every direction.

Chimera begins each run burning, cursing, and poisoning enemies at the same time. From there, her Transformations let you decide which part of the monster deserves to become considerably worse for everyone around her.

“She was of divine stock, not of men, in the fore part a lion, in the hinder a serpent, and in the midst a goat, breathing forth in terrible wise the might of blazing fire.”

Homer, The Illiad

Power - Hybrid Attack

Why choose one combat Power when you can have three in one? Every strike of Hybrid Attack unleashes three attacks simultaneously:

  • Chimera spits a piercing fireball forward, burning enemies in its path before exploding

  • Her claws sweep across nearby enemies, dealing melee damage and applying Curse

  • The serpent tail fires a fan of poisonous spikes behind her

Finding the safe side of Chimera is left as an exercise for your enemies.

Transformations

At first, Chimera happily does everything at once. As the run develops, you decide which part of the monster to push further:

  • Sharpen the claws for stronger close-range attacks

  • Feed the flame and develop her fireball

  • Trust the serpent and turn its poisonous volley into sweeping tail attacks

Final Transformations can take that choice much further: you can abandon two parts of Hybrid Attack entirely to heavily strengthen the third.

Drop the claws and serpent, for example, and your fireball can become stronger and gain additional effects.

Apparently Chimera can specialise after all. She just needs some encouragement.

Chimera comes with bonus stats:

+250 Maximum Health

+30% Status Strength

+20% Critical Damage

Her bonuses naturally favour builds that make the most of Burn, Curse, Poison status effects, while her generous health pool gives you a little more room to operate where Chimera tends to be happiest: uncomfortably close to everything.

Talent - Goat's Head

Eventually, even three simultaneous attacks encounter the traditional bullet heaven problem: there are simply too many things standing in the way.

That’s why every 40 seconds, Goat's Head activates for 15 seconds, granting Chimera +25% Movement Speed and summoning a pair of goat horns in front of her.

The horns deal only minor damage, but that's not really their job.

They violently knock enemies aside and protect Chimera from frontal contact, letting you drive straight through dense hordes like a mythological battering ram.

For fifteen seconds, the shortest route from A to B is through everyone.

Fire, claws, poison. Pick your favourite problem and make it everyone else’s

Start with all three. Build around the one you like most. Decide which one gets out of hand or keep as much of the original mythological flavour as possible.

Chimera gives you three different directions to take the same Survivor - and plenty of reasons to try another run.

Requires the base game Achilles: Survivor to play.
