What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Sudden Death Golf is designed to be a fun, community-driven party game, and I want the community to have a real influence on how it evolves.

The core game is already playable, but Early Access will give me the opportunity to gather feedback, discuss new ideas with players and refine the gameplay, game modes and map editor based on what people actually enjoy playing.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently expect Sudden Death Golf to remain in Early Access for approximately 6–12 months.

This may change depending on player feedback, the development of new content and the improvements we decide to make during Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Full version is planned to expand and refine Sudden Death Golf in three main areas:

- Game modes & gameplay - Player feedback will help shape the core gameplay loop, rules and game modes so that they are as fun and chaotic as possible
- Content - More maps, powerups, golf ball customization and ways for players to interact with each other
- Map editor - The current editor already lets you create and edit your own maps, but there is plenty of room to expand it with new tiles, materials, obstacles and building tools. Improving the map editor is one of the main goals of Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Sudden Death Golf is fully playable and supports both local and online multiplayer.
The map editor is also available, allowing players to create, edit and play their own maps.
The game will continue to receive new content, improvements and balancing throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. Sudden Death Golf will be slightly discounted during Early Access as a way of rewarding players who support the game early.
I plan to increase the price when the game reaches full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is extremely important to Sudden Death Golf. I want the game to be fun for casual parties, groups of friends and all the wonderfully chaotic situations that come with them.

Players can share feedback, suggestions and ideas through the Discord community and Steam discussions. Feedback will help guide decisions about game modes, gameplay rules, balance, powerups, content and the map editor.

If you have an idea that would make the game more fun, I want to hear it :)”

About This Game

Minigolf, but nobody plays fair

Sudden Death Golf is a chaotic party minigolf game for up to 12 players. Play locally on one PC or take the fight online with your friends.

Forget politely waiting your turn. Smash their balls, steal the lead, gang up on whoever's winning and use ridiculous powerups to ruin everyone's day.

The goal is still simple: get the ball in the hole. How you get there? That's your problem.

Embrace the chaos

This game ain't fair. That's the point.

With more than a dozen powerups, you can mess with physics, boost yourself, sabotage your opponents or turn an otherwise normal hole into complete nonsense.

And with ball-to-ball collisions enabled by default, every shot can become an opportunity to send your friend's ball flying into the nearest obstacle. Play nice if you want. But nobody else will.

Game Modes

If you're bored of regular golf, let me introduce the following:

  • Elimination mode - Every hole claims a victim. The worst-performing player gets eliminated. Don't be last.

  • Fistfight mode - Now striking an opponent is +1 for you and -1 for them, let's go to war!

  • Beer run - Grab beer powerups to make your screen wobble. The more you drink, the harder it gets to play. What happens off-screen is none of my business :)

Build your own nightmares

Play the included courses, then build your own with the built-in map editor.

Create something clever. Create something competitive.

Or get your friends to each make the most horribly designed map imaginable and combine them into one completely unplayable party course. Your friends will hate you.

That's a feature.

Coming soon to Early Access

Sudden Death Golf is coming soon to Early Access.
