About This Game

Welcome to Cairnforge!

What's Special About Cairnforge?

At heart, Cairnforge is a survival/crafting game. Like other games you gather materials, and craft tools and weapons to hunt and survive.

But what's different? 
In Cairnforge, the game doesn't know what a pick-axe, a spear, or anything is.

What does this mean?

You gather raw elements... wood, metals, crystals. Then you can go to an invention screen where you literally design those tools and weapons, and you can craft them and use them. This mean's your imagination is the limit.

Cairnforge trusts the player.

You get to decide how your tools work! The game knows how pointy and object is, how heavy it is. It knows the materials. You can create chains. You can build homes. Eventually you will use intelligent fluid dynamics and motors, and... the sky is the limit.

Other Game Goals.

• Measured classes — Become a Mage, Barbarian, or something in between through play, not a character-select screen

• Hands-on crafting & materials — Experiment in the world: build fires, test specimens, and learn what matter can do

• Voxel world & invention — Author structures and articulated inventions from parts that behave like real matter

• Skill-driven progression — Grow through practice across crafting, survival, and emerging tech trees

I'm giving myself till the end of 2027 to build a game that we can all love together. Please join the playtests, and the discord server, and through discussion and ideas together we will shape the lore and direction of the game.
