What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Granny - Welcome Home is currently in an early but playable state, and we want to build the rest of the game together with our community rather than behind closed doors.

Releasing now, in Early Access, lets us:

Expand the world. We're actively working on new maps to explore, each with its own layout, secrets, and threats.
Build a real story. The narrative will unfold across these maps, with each new area revealing more about the house, its history, and what's really going on.
Add depth through challenges. We're introducing player challenges and objectives to give more experienced players fresh ways to test themselves beyond simple survival.
Shape development with player feedback. Horror and puzzle games live or die on pacing, difficulty, and atmosphere. Early Access lets us tune all of this based on real player reactions instead of guessing.

We believe the core experience is already fun and scary — but there's a lot more we want to add before calling it complete. Your feedback during this period will directly influence which maps, mechanics, and story beats make it into the final release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Because the team is small, we can't really say this. Right now we are thinking that the game is going to be in Early Access for year and a half.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We are going to add different maps that will have their key features. For example: First House that already is in the game, will have detective features where you would have to guess in the right way, what happened to Victor, by solving puzzles and finding more clues on what happened. Second house that is still in development will have a radio that will tell player what he has to do, by talking about Granny's family and what happened to them. We also will change the look of the game, enemy AI, add more challenges and Score board so player can compete on speed with each challenge and map.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of the game has only puzzles and items to interact with. You can pick-up some items and use them to break, open or fix other items. Also the game has primitive enemy AI that can: chase player, patrol the house and look for noise that player make by: walking on wooden floor, dropping an item or by bumping into a picture on walls. You currently can't investigate Victor's case, but it will be added in near updates.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Most likely, we’ll increase the game's price after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will look at your featback on steam community, youtube and steam reviews. By this we will see what you players want to see in this game, so we can build it together.”

About This Game

What could possibly drive a person insane? What could make them to kidnap and eat people?

You are a police officer who is working on a case of a missing man named Victor. Your search led you into the woods, where you were kidnapped by an old woman.

Your goal is to find a way out from the house in five days. Find the reasons for what happened to the people who lived in the house. If you will not make it... Then you might have no other choice but to say hello to Victor.

To escape the house, you have to find several items placed inside the house, and use them to unlock the main door. The door is covered with locks and planks so you have to figure it out on what to use those items. On top of that, you will be chased by a dead granny who can hear your steps and items that you drop, so be careful.

Escape the crazy house: by going through the locked door.

Find the reason for what happened to people who lived and still live there

Think you can beat the game in 4 minutes? Or maybe leave the house without sprinting? Here are some of the challenges you can try:

Challenges you can try:

One life: you only have one day to leave the house. You can't expand it.

No running: you can't run for the whole game.

Granny can see you everywhere: you have 10 seconds before Granny begins chasing you. And no... She will not leave you alone until you're dead...
