About This Game

Long Description — About This Game

Brew Potions. Serve Customers. Survive the Consequences.

Your brother has vanished. All he left behind is a run-down alchemy shop, a suspiciously well-patched cauldron, and a city where even a soothing chamomile potion can have political consequences.

Brew & Boom is a narrative alchemy simulation about dangerous potions, difficult choices, and explosions that are, of course, performed strictly in the name of science.

Run Your Own Alchemy Shop

Order ingredients, manage your supplies, and combine potion bases with a variety of reagents. Every ingredient changes the properties of your brew—and some mostly change the likelihood of your cauldron suddenly redistributing itself across the room.

Upgrade your cauldron, expand your storage shelves, and gradually restore your crumbling workshop.

Every Potion Has Consequences

Brewing takes more than the correct recipe. Unstable mixtures can fail, destroy valuable ingredients, or end with a spectacular explosion.

Successful potions may help your customers—usually. What you sell and how you fulfil their requests will influence future encounters, the mood of the city, and the course of the story.

Cause too many explosions and the city guard may pay you a visit. For “noise complaints.” Not for the missing roof.

Customers, Conspiracies, and Questionable Ingredients

Citizens, soldiers, merchants, rebels, and figures who prefer to travel after dark will approach your workshop window.

The Paladins demand that a mysterious ingredient be added to certain potions. The Storm Banners have plans of their own. And the Silent Conclave leaves messages at night that might have been better left unread.

You decide whom to help, whom to deceive, and which potions to deliver. Your choices affect hidden faction relationships and lead the story down different paths.

Business by Day, Secrets by Night

During the day, open your window to customers, accept requests, and sell finished potions. At night, prepare supplies, organise ingredients, and deal with visitors who would rather leave no trace.

Some answers can only be found in daylight. Others do not come knocking until the streetlamps reveal little more than a shadow.

Key Features

  • Experimental brewing with potion bases, reagents, and different effects

  • A risky cauldron system featuring successes, failures, and spectacular explosions

  • A reactive story with customers, dialogue choices, and lasting consequences

  • Three competing factions with conflicting goals

  • Day and night phases featuring different encounters and activities

  • Upgradeable cauldrons, shelves, and workshop equipment

  • Multiple story paths and endings

  • Dark political intrigue, black comedy, and a surprising amount of bureaucracy surrounding exploding potions

Save the city, sell it out, or accidentally cover it in smoke. The cauldron does not judge you. The city guard does.
