What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We're offering early access because we want to develop Project: Dead together with the community. The game is primarily designed for multiplayer, so having real players involved during development will allow us to identify balance issues, bugs, performance problems, and situations that might be difficult to find during internal testing.

We also want feedback on the monsters, survivors, maps, objectives, and various mechanics so we can improve the experience before releasing it to the full version.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to keep Project: Dead in Early Access for as long as necessary to develop and improve its core systems and content.

The duration will largely depend on development and community feedback. During this period, we want to focus particularly on improving stability, balancing multiplayer, adding content, and ensuring that matches are varied and fun.

We don't want to set a fixed date for leaving Early Access and prefer to focus on achieving a suitable level of quality.

But it will be in early access for about 3 years (with exclusive content for those who support us).”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version will feature the core gameplay of Project: Dead and will allow players to experience full matches as both a survivor and a monster.

During Early Access, we plan to progressively expand the game's content, including new maps, monsters, survivors, items, objectives, and other mechanics. We will also be working on improvements to balance, performance, stability, and overall quality.

The full version will aim to offer a more complete and polished experience, with a greater variety of content and systems developed based on the lessons learned during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version already includes the core gameplay of Project: Dead, including the asymmetrical multiplayer matchmaking system, survivors, monsters, objectives, and maps.

The game is still under active development, so bugs, balance issues, and areas for improvement may still exist. During Early Access, we will continue working on performance, stability, content, and the overall gameplay experience.

The goal is for the available version to be playable enough for full matches while we continue developing and improving the project.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No.
It will always be free, and we don't plan to change the game's price when we leave early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want the community to play a vital role in the development of Project: Dead.

We plan to use player feedback to identify bugs, balance issues, and areas for improvement. We'll also consider feedback on maps, monsters, survivors, items, and mechanics.

The community can share their opinions and suggestions through the game's official channels. We'll review this feedback throughout development and use it to determine which aspects need further attention.

The goal is for Project: Dead to evolve with the help of players, resulting in a multiplayer horror experience that's fun for both survivors and monsters.”

About This Game

PROJECT: DEAD

How far are you willing to go to come back with something valuable?

PROJECT: DEAD is a cooperative horror game for 1–6 players where you’ll venture into abandoned and dangerous locations to complete missions, recover valuable items, and make it out alive.

But the real problem isn’t getting in.

It’s getting back out.

KEEP EXPLORING

Each expedition will take you to a different location: laboratories, hospitals, offices, and other places hiding much more than meets the eye.

Maps are generated from different rooms and scenarios, adapting to the objectives of each expedition. You never know exactly what you’ll find in each map.

COMPLETE YOUR OBJECTIVE

Each expedition has one or more objectives you’ll need to complete.

Repair systems, restore power, find fuses, activate machinery, disable dangerous systems, recover specific items, solve mechanisms, and complete sequences that can change the map itself.

And some missions don’t end when you complete the first objective.

Restoring the power could open up a new area.

And solving one problem could create an even worse one.

LEAVE... OR RISK MORE?

Completing the mission doesn’t mean you have to leave immediately.

Scattered throughout the map, you’ll find valuable items that aren’t required to complete the expedition.

You can settle for what you’ve already found and head back to the elevator...

Or keep exploring.

The longer you stay inside, the greater your chances of finding something truly valuable.

But the chances of something going wrong will increase as well.

PICK IT UP. DRAG IT. THROW IT. SURVIVE.

Items have weight and size.

You can pick them up, carry them, drag them, place them, and throw them. Some items are too heavy for certain players, while others can’t even be stored.

What looks like a simple abandoned object can also become a tool for survival.

Or an improvised weapon.

Or the worst decision you’ve made all game.

YOU’RE NOT ALONE

Something is patrolling these places.

The threats you encounter won’t always behave the same way. Some may react to sound, others to light or to objects you move.

You won’t always know what’s watching you.

And facing it won’t always be the best idea.

DEATH HAS CONSEQUENCES

When you die, your body will remain where you fell and your belongings will drop to the ground.

While your teammates continue the expedition, you’ll be able to watch them from beyond the grave.

If they manage to find a revival zone, they might be able to bring you back.

But opportunities are limited, and every revival comes at a cost.

If there are no opportunities left...

You’ll have to wait.

THE ELEVATOR

Once you’re done, you’ll have to make it to the extraction elevator.

The extraction process isn’t instant.

First, you’ll need to complete the scan. Then, every player must be inside the elevator.

After that, someone has to hold down the button.

Three seconds.

Three seconds might not sound like much.

Until something appears just as you’re about to escape.

PREPARE FOR THE NEXT EXPEDITION

Once you return to the safe zone, you can use the money you’ve earned to purchase upgrades and equipment.

Improve your ability to carry items, increase your inventory, upgrade your flashlight, or reduce the time required to perform certain actions.

But resources are limited.

And every decision matters.

YOUR TEAM IS YOUR GREATEST ADVANTAGE

PROJECT: DEAD is built around cooperative gameplay.

Communicate.

Divive the tasks.

Help your teammate carry something that’s too heavy.

Don’t leave behind the one who stayed behind to explore.

EVERY EXPEDITION IS DIFFERENT

Go in.

Complete the objective.

Find something valuable.

Decide when you’ve had enough.

And make it back to the elevator.

Because in PROJECT: DEAD, surviving with less can be better than dying trying to get it all.
