About This Game

Build faster. Think smarter. Sabotage your rivals!

Welcome to TowerCard, a standalone strategy card game that combines clever resource and building mechanics with a medieval fantasy adventure story. Gather resources, raise your very own tower across five stages, and face off against unforgettable characters from five different worlds, or challenge the AI in quick local matches whenever the mood strikes.

Multiplayer is coming soon: in the planned Arcade Mode you'll compete directly against other players. Until then, Quick Play and Story Mode offer local matches against the AI.

TowerCard tells the story of Thomas, a farmer's son who is kidnapped and shipped off to foreign lands on the very night he asks for the hand of his great love, Rose. From one place to the next, he gets to know the same card game better and better, and with it he wins allies, reputation, and piece by piece, his freedom back. His goal never changes: back to Teutoria, back to Rose.

NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED

Never played a building or card-collecting game before? No problem. TowerCard guides you through its story step by step: in the prologue, Lord Mansa in Zarakhan teaches you the rules while you earn his trust. Drawing, building, converting, trading: every mechanic is introduced exactly when you first really need it, instead of leaving you alone with a dry rulebook.

BUILD, TRADE, OUTWIT

The core of TowerCard is quick to explain but hard to master. At the start of your turn you draw two cards. Then you choose exactly one main action: build a floor of your tower, construct a production site, play a special card, keep your resources, or exchange up to two cards. At any point during your turn you may convert basic resources such as wood, stone, clay, sand, and iron into higher-value materials like timber, brick, glass, and steel. Special cards add spice and open confrontation: with Trade you barter directly with the bank or your opponent, with Raid you strike an opponent's resource stores, Sabotage shuts down enemy production sites, and if you're lucky, a Lucky Find draws you two extra cards. Six unique tower cards, from the Wooden Tower to the Merchant's Tower to the Royal Tower, mean every match calls for different resource paths and priorities. Whoever completes the fifth and final floor of their tower first wins.

A JOURNEY THROUGH FIVE WORLDS

In Story Mode you travel with Thomas through foreign worlds full of distinctive characters, conflicts, and motives. In Zarakhan, Lord Mansa and his wife Safiya teach you the game and put your character to the test. In Shenzora you end up in the household of Mei Lin and Sora, where TowerCard decides your freedom. In Sultanar you play in the palace of Sultan Can and his consort Hürrem for reputation, money, and the question of who a festival should really belong to. Every world brings its own opponents with their own playstyle, their own dialogue, and a letter of recommendation that records who Thomas became there. Further chapters in Albion, and finally the return to Teutoria, are already on the horizon.

QUICK PLAY AND ARCADE MODE

Not in the mood for story, just want a quick match? In Quick Play you face the AI directly across three difficulty levels, easy, normal, and hard, and can experiment with any of the six TowerCards anew. Your own save files can be kept in several parallel slots, in both Story and Quick Play modes, so you can always pick up right where you left off. An Arcade Mode for multiplayer matches is already in the works.

FROM SCREEN TO TABLE

TowerCard doesn't exist only digitally: the card game is also available as a physical product for your own tabletop, for anyone who prefers building their towers with real cards in hand.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

AI was used as a supporting tool during the development of this game. However, the original game idea and its underlying concept were created several years ago and were developed entirely independently of AI.

The entire project is being created by a solo developer with a university degree in Game Design. Over the years, several hundred hours of work, experience, creativity, and personal passion have gone into the concept, development, and realization of the game.

AI was used to assist with certain parts of the development process. This includes support with coding as well as some aspects of soundtrack and visual asset creation. Many of the visual assets were subsequently edited, refined, adapted, or partially recreated manually using image editing software to achieve the intended style and quality.

AI was also used as a supporting tool for written content, primarily to make minor improvements to texts written by the developer and to correct grammar and wording.

AI therefore serves as an additional tool within the development process. The original game concept, game design, creative decisions, final direction, and implementation of the game remain the work of the developer. Various sounds and some of the soundtracks used in the game were also created and composed by the developer.
