Click an enemy and your guns lock on. Tap a hex and an EMP freezes everything standing on it. Ride the heat gauge and vent on the perfect frame for a damage spike. Miss it and your whole arsenal goes quiet for two seconds while forty things sprint at your core.

Then the round ends, the pressure drops to zero, and the Forge opens with no timer on it.

[h2]Where you put it matters more than what it is[/h2]

Three weapon cores in a triangle, hex rings overlapping. Some sockets feed one weapon, some feed two, the keystone feeds all three.

Put Fire next to Ice and get Thermal Shock. Slide a third element in and watch the combo shatter. Echo copies half of whatever it's touching. Parasite eats a level off its neighbor. Mirror impersonates the socket across the grid. Move one mod one hex and your entire damage curve changes.

Two identical mods merge into one a level higher. Only one copy of anything can be equipped, so every extra is a choice: merge it up, or melt it down for uranium.

[h2]Then it starts playing itself[/h2]

Uranium buys [b]arcanes[/b]. No percentages, only visible mechanics. Damage arcs between enemies. Burning corpses detonate and set the neighboring hexes alight. Poison spreads through a crowd on death.

It also buys your way out of the work: auto-marking, bulk capsule cracking, 2x speed, full auto-run, and offline auto-deploy that keeps clearing rounds while you sleep. By zone 6 you're not fighting anymore. You're tuning the machine that fights.

"Incoming: Shield Line x6 + Ranger x4." Swapping mods is always free. Elites every fourth round, a boss twice a zone, and a three-card draft that is the only place new weapons exist.
