Bring a seaside town back to life

Tidewell is a cozy town-management game about rebuilding a neglected coastal village, one thoughtful decision at a time.

When you arrive, only a handful of residents remain. The harbor is weathered, old plots lie abandoned, and the younger villagers have left for bigger towns. As the newly elected mayor—and a former fisher—it is up to you to give people a reason to come home.

Listen to the people who live there

Villagers bring you petitions asking for homes, shops, decorations, and improvements. Approve them, set them aside, or turn them down—but choose carefully. Space is limited, the town’s vault is not bottomless, and every decision changes the lives of named villagers.

Requests also naturally introduce new parts of the game. There is no checklist of disconnected objectives: the town tells you what it needs through the people who call it home.

Decide what belongs where

Placement matters in Tidewell. Reclaim neglected land, arrange buildings, shape districts, and make the most of a compact coastline.

A busy workshop might provide jobs while annoying its neighbors. A well-placed bench, flower bed, or lantern can lift an entire corner of town. Decorating is not just cosmetic—it helps determine how each district feels.

Balance prosperity and happiness

Set taxes, fund improvements, and keep an eye on the town’s mood. Higher taxes fill the vault more quickly but may push struggling households too far. Lower them, and people will be happier, but ambitious projects will have to wait.

There is no sudden game over. A town can decline, but it can always recover through patient decisions, careful spending, and a little honest work.

Make the cove your own

Customize your mayor, restore the harbor, and watch the village develop through changing days, weather, tides, and seasons. Meet residents with their own names, routines, and wishes. Welcome, cats, prepare for festivals and capture postcard views of the place you created.

As Tidewell grows, fishing and voyages beyond the cove will bring back income, materials, discoveries and new neighbours—opening the way to a thriving harbour community.
