Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Starwood: Lantern already has its full recruit-and-battle loop, persistent runs, a large live card pool, hero powers, Blessings, and asynchronous opponents. Early Access lets us tune balance and pacing with a wider field of real runs while we continue improving presentation, onboarding, and long-term progression.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our current goal is to leave Early Access within 90 days. This is a target, not a guaranteed release date, and may change based on player feedback and development needs.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand onboarding, progression, social and competitive features, visual and audio polish, accessibility, and the card and hero pools. We also expect substantial balance iteration throughout Early Access. Plans may change based on what players find most valuable.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version supports complete asynchronous runs from hero selection through recruitment, automatic combat, Blessings, and run completion. It includes 45 heroes, 178 minions, 60 spells, seven cultures, a persistent run archive and statistics, hero collection, and the casual Meridian Exchange. English and mouse/keyboard are currently supported. An internet connection is required.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We may increase the price when Starwood: Lantern leaves Early Access to reflect the additional content and features. We will communicate any price change in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to use Steam Discussions and update posts for balance feedback, bug reports, usability issues, and feature priorities. Balance changes will be documented so players can understand how the live card pool evolves.”

About This Game

Heavily inspired by Hearthstone Battlegrounds & The Bazaar.

Carry the lantern. Build the warband. Outlast the road.

Starwood: Lantern is an asynchronous, day-based fantasy autobattler. Choose a hero, recruit minions and spells at Camp, arrange a seven-slot formation, and send your warband into automatic combat against rival runs. Every day asks a new question: spend now, upgrade your Camp, chase a synergy, or preserve the formation that is keeping you alive?

Build around your hero

Choose from 45 heroes with distinct powers and starting plans. Recruit across seven cultures—Concord, Lunari, Meridian, Lantern, Antler, Ashen, and Null—or combine them with Neutral cards to create flexible, unexpected builds.

Make every position count

Your board has seven slots. Attack order, adjacency, Shields, summons, Requiem effects, and start- or end-of-combat triggers can turn the same collection of minions into very different outcomes. Rearrange freely during recruitment, then watch the battle resolve.

Adapt over a full run

The Camp offers 238 live minions and spells across six tiers. Refresh the market, improve your Camp, freeze a promising offer, Discover new cards, and strengthen your board with 33 Blessings that can change the direction of a run.

A persistent casual account

Your casual account tracks run history, statistics, hero collection, and the Crownweights you earn in play. The optional Meridian Exchange lets players collect and trade hero variants using this valueless in-game currency. Export your Account key if you want to continue the same casual account on another device or in the web edition.
