What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I chose Early Access because the core gameplay loop is already defined, but the game is designed to grow far beyond it.

Player feedback from real co-op sessions will be especially valuable for balancing the fuel timer, progression, item values, enemy behaviour, difficulty, and the unique mechanics of future locations.

Early Access will allow me to develop RoboKitties: MEGASTRUCTURE together with its community while gradually expanding the game with new content and improving the existing experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently expect the game to remain in Early Access for approximately 18 months.

This is an estimate rather than a fixed deadline. The exact duration may change depending on player feedback, the scope of new content, and the amount of iteration required before the game feels complete.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to significantly expand upon the core Early Access experience.

I plan to add more locations, with each location introducing its own hazards, environmental interactions, enemies, objectives, and unique gameplay mechanics. The variety of items, craftable equipment, weapons, character upgrades, and progression options is also planned to grow throughout development.

The full version is also planned to include a more complete story, additional parts of the RoboKitties universe, greater gameplay variety, improved balance, better onboarding, performance improvements, and further overall polish.

The exact scope and priorities may change based on development progress and community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the complete core gameplay loop and supports solo play and online co-op for up to five players.

Players can explore the megastructure, search for valuable objects and resources, interact with machinery and environmental objects, avoid or defend themselves against hostile machines, and return to the lift before its energy is depleted and the doors close.

Recovered items can be processed at the hub and used to craft equipment, unlock weapons, and upgrade the players abilities. The current version also includes progression and the main objective of locating and recovering cores from dangerous parts of the level.

The game is playable in its current state, but the amount of content, enemy and item variety, balance, polish, and story presentation are still in development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to offer the game at a lower price during the earlier stages of Early Access.

The base price may gradually increase as substantial new locations, mechanics, enemies, items, story content, and improvements are added. I currently expect the final version to have a higher base price than the initial Early Access release.

Any planned price changes will be communicated to the community in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to communicate with players through Steam Discussions, development updates, announcements, patch notes, and the game's official social media channels.

Community feedback will help identify technical issues and shape the balance, difficulty, progression, enemy behaviour, item usefulness, energy timings, quality-of-life improvements, and the unique mechanics of future locations.

I will pay particular attention to feedback based on real solo and co-op sessions. When appropriate, I also plan to use community polls and public testing to compare possible changes before they are introduced into the main version.”

About This Game

TINY BODIES. GIANT MACHINE-WORLD.

Your lift is the only safe place left.

It carries your crew into the abandoned sectors of a colossal megastructure — and it only works while there is power.

Leave the cage, explore rusted junkyards, reactor hangars and decaying industrial facilities, and bring back anything that may help your tiny machines survive.

VALUABLE LOOT IS ALSO A PROBLEM

Not everything valuable wants to be carried home.

Some objects are heavy. Some make noise. Some behave unpredictably. Others can interfere with machines, attract unwanted attention, or become a threat to the crew carrying them.

Every expedition forces your team to decide how much danger one more piece of loot is worth.

The more you take, the harder it may become to escape.

STEAL THE HEART OF THE SECTOR

Somewhere inside each location is an few active reactor cores.

Finding it is only the beginning.

Search abandoned machinery, follow the remaining power, overcome industrial security systems, and remove the core from the facility that still depends on it.

Once the power begins to fail, the expedition changes.

Finding what you came for is only half the expedition…

GET BACK BEFORE THE DOOR CLOSES

The lift is your only way back to the hub.

When its remaining electricity runs out, the entrance begins to close.

Drop what you cannot carry. Help teammates caught by hostile machines. Choose what is worth saving. Then run through the darkness before the safe door shuts behind you.

A successful expedition is not about finding everything.

It is about returning with something.

SURVIVE A MACHINE-WORLD GONE MAD

The megastructure was built for machines much larger than you.

Many of these machines are not hunting you because they are evil.

They are simply still working.

BUILD A HOME INSIDE THE LIFT

Everything successfully extracted returns with you to the hub.

Recycle scrap into resources, craft tools, repair and upgrade your character, and generate fuel for future expeditions to travel deeper into the megastructure.

You will never have enough resources for everything.

Decide what the crew needs now - and what(or who) can remain broken for one more expedition.

WORK TOGETHER - OR LOSE EVERYTHING TOGETHER

Remain close enough to rescue each other, or separate to find more.

Carry valuable loot, watch the remaining power, and decide when greed has gone too far.

Inside the megastructure, a single mistake can become the whole crew’s problem.
