Day by day: Tokyo Student Survival Journal is a pixel-art life simulation game inspired by the everyday experiences of international students in Japan.

You play as a Chinese student arriving in Tokyo for the very first time. Starting with nothing in an unfamiliar city, you'll face the challenges of studying abroad—from managing your daily life and finances to balancing school, part-time jobs, and your dreams.

Life in Tokyo isn't as easy as it seems.

To stay in Japan, you'll need to keep up with residence procedures, complete school registration, prepare university applications, and pass important exams. At the same time, you'll face the everyday realities of student life—finding time to eat, sleep, pay rent and tuition, earn money through part-time jobs, and decide what kind of future you want to build.

Each day offers only a limited amount of time.

Will you spend your days studying in the library, preparing for the EJU and university entrance exams? Or take on part-time jobs at convenience stores, cafés, izakayas, and Chinese restaurants to earn your living?

Shop for groceries, cook your own meals, work out, browse the internet, watch livestreams, meet new people, and gradually create your own story in the streets of Tokyo.

With a time-management and resource management system, every choice matters. Hunger, sleep, hygiene, mood, study progress, and money are all interconnected, and the decisions you make today will shape the opportunities—and challenges—you face tomorrow.

Study hard, and your dream university may be within reach.
