What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Thrive Z is entering Early Access so the game can grow alongside its community. The core extraction, combat, inventory, progression, survival, and multiplayer systems are already being developed, but player feedback is essential for balancing these interconnected mechanics.
Early Access will allow us to test the game across a wider range of hardware and network conditions, improve multiplayer stability, refine enemy behavior, balance loot and progression, and identify issues that are difficult to reproduce with a small testing group.
Community feedback will also help shape future maps, equipment, enemies, talents, missions, and quality-of-life improvements. Our goal is to build a challenging and rewarding extraction experience while keeping players involved throughout development.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“At least the first two years of release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full version of Thrive Z to give a larger and more varied experience than the current Early Access build. We’d like to add more maps to explore, expand the skill and ability systems, introduce more zombie variations, bosses and offer a wider selection of weapons, armor, crafting ,and items.
We also plan to refine combat, AI, multiplayer, and progression based on player feedback during Early Access. These are our goals”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Thrive Z is currently playable but unfinished. The current build includes solo and multiplayer raids in the Warehouse and Quarantine areas, with zombies, armed scavengers, looting, combat, and extraction. Players can use the Sanctum hub, manage equipment/inventory and stash, buy and sell items from traders, complete quests, and unlock talents. The Personal Bunker was just added and will be working soon. The game has a 2 maps at the moment, and players may encounter bugs, particularly in multiplayer.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We're not planning on changing the price when we leave early access”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We lean heavily into our Discord community feedback on suggestions for upcoming features and also to help us stay on top of bug/optimization fixes”

About This Game

Thrive Z is a top-down zombie extraction shooter where every raid is a gamble between survival and greed. Enter dangerous locations, search containers for valuable supplies, fight infected and hostile scavengers, and extract before everything falls apart.

Anything you bring into a raid is at risk. Death can cost you your weapons, armor, backpack, and everything collected along the way—but items secured inside your safety container remain protected.

LOOT, ORGANIZE, SURVIVE

Manage your equipment through a grid-based inventory inspired by hardcore extraction games. Equip weapons, armor, helmets, tactical rigs, and backpacks with different storage capacities. Search crates, manage ammunition manually, repair damaged equipment, and decide what is worth carrying home.

TACTICAL COMBAT

Choose from assault rifles, SMGs, shotguns, knives, and grenades. Weapons feature recoil, fire modes, ammunition management, magazines, durability, and distinct handling. Darkness and limited visibility make every hallway dangerous, while directional audio helps identify threats before they appear.

DETAILED SURVIVAL

Damage is divided across individual body parts. Injured or blacked-out limbs affect movement and weapon handling, while bleeding and infection require specialized medical supplies. Players must also manage stamina, energy, thirst, weight, and carrying capacity during raids.

DEVELOP YOUR SURVIVOR

Improve skills naturally through gameplay.

Earn experience, level up, and invest talent points across specialized talent trees to shape your preferred combat and survival style.

FACE AN UNPREDICTABLE WORLD

Zombies react to sight, gunfire, and sprinting. As a raid continues, they become increasingly restless and eventually begin relentlessly hunting survivors.

PLAY ALONE OR TOGETHER

Enter raids solo or form a party with friends. Fallen teammates leave their unsecured gear behind, creating an opportunity for survivors to recover it before extracting.

In solo play, hire and equip a Military Contractor companion. Issue commands to follow, guard, patrol, provide first aid, or scavenge nearby containers.

BUILD YOUR STASH

Return to the Sanctum between raids to organize equipment, trade scrap with specialized vendors, repair damaged gear, prepare ammunition, manage hired support, and choose your next destination.

Every successful extraction strengthens your survivor.

Every death leaves something behind.
