About This Game

Her story starts with the name you give her.

A cat-eared girl with no memory appears at your doorstep. You give her a name—and a place she can come home to.

NEKO MAKER 2: Starlit Girl is a single-player raising simulation with visual-novel storytelling. From age six to eighteen, share twelve years of learning, friendship, challenges, and farewells while uncovering her connection to the starlit cage.

Start each term by talking about her plans

Listen to her wishes, then choose a main pursuit, a term goal, and an optional activity. Drawing, performance, swordsmanship, magic, cooking, and study develop through sustained practice and tangible accomplishments.

Regular plans carry through the term, with room to adjust or pause. Basic learning and everyday events continue without extra classes, so you can also leave time for family, friends, and rest.

Make room for the moments that matter

Life continues after the plan is set. She may bring home new work, talk about a friend, or hesitate before an important opportunity. Choose a free-time activity each month, respond to her hopes and difficulties, and keep an eye on her mood, stress, and health.

Abilities, talents, time, and money all shape your options. Will you support the next challenge, or leave her room to find her direction at her own pace?

Let the holidays open new possibilities

Walk around the harbor, take a coastal journey, support her studies, practice a skill, or stay home with friends. Holiday time is limited: decide how to spend it, and bring shared experiences and memories into your next conversation about the term ahead.

See her progress—and hear what she wants

Build sketchbooks, performance records, training journals, and other records of her learning. Look back at each term and decide what to continue. Prepare for competitions, face opponents, and make tactical choices at key moments. As she grows and gains experience, her wishes change too.

Meet the harbor's people and follow the starlight

Get to know friends, teachers, and harbor residents. Explore different places and gather clues through diaries, memories, and puzzle fragments. Her past and the mystery of the starlit cage gradually become part of your everyday life together.

Where will twelve years lead her?

Your plans, responses, and relationships influence talent routes and multiple endings. Return for another playthrough to explore different choices and true endings.

She will grow up and find a direction of her own. The years you share will help her take the next step.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

About Generative AI

This game used generative AI during development to help create some visual assets. All assets were reviewed, edited, and shipped as pre-made files before release—in the game and on the store page.

What AI was used for

Character portraits, expression variants, and NPC art
Some CG illustrations and background art
Some Steam store capsules, library images, and marketing graphics
What AI was not used for

No images or story are generated live while you play
Dialogue, events, and localization were written and proofread by the development team—not produced dynamically by AI during gameplay
How it was made
Art was generated on the developer’s machine using image-generation tools (SwarmUI / Z-Image Turbo), guided by fixed style and character prompts. Outputs were manually selected and post-processed (e.g. cutout, compositing, resizing) before import into the Godot project. Your copy contains fixed assets only; gameplay does not trigger new AI generation.

If you prefer to judge the visual style first, please review the screenshots and trailer on this store page.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

NEKO MAKER 2: Starlit Girl is a fantasy life-sim / narrative game. Some themes may not be suitable for younger players.

Violence
Includes mild, non-realistic fantasy violence, such as sword training, tournament matches, and school conflicts. Combat is resolved through stats and story scenes. No blood, gore, killing, or death depictions. A few events mention minor scrapes from training, or optional responses to bullying. Tone is generally cartoon-like / fantasy.

Sexual content
No sexual acts, nudity, pornography, or sexual violence. Some storylines involve teen romance and confessions (crushes, confessions, rejection) and familial emotional bonds between guardian and ward. These are narrative only, not sexual in nature.

Potentially sensitive themes

Emotional stress, burnout, trust issues, and mental/emotional breakdown; some endings involve the protagonist needing rest and professional care. No depictions of suicide or self-harm.
School bullying and peer exclusion.
Mild unease or mystery (nightmares, foggy ruins, star-mark anomalies). Not a horror game; no jump scares.
Rare epilogue text mentions adults sharing wine in a social context. No alcohol abuse or drug use.
Some routes involve moral choices and morally gray errands; no explicit depictions of drugs or trafficking.
Language
Occasional mild colloquial language in some localizations.

Other
Single-player narrative only. No gambling, real-money purchases, or player chat. Some visual assets were created with generative AI during development and shipped as pre-made in-game art (not generated live during play).

Players sensitive to emotional distress, parent–child themes, or teen romance may wish to review screenshots and the trailer before purchasing.
