What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Cage Empire is a deep management sim, the kind of game that gets meaningfully better when real players push on it. Systems like the fighter economy, contract negotiation, matchmaking, and fight balance are exactly the things that benefit from thousands of careers being played in ways we could never fully test on our own. We're launching in Early Access so the community can help us balance, refine, and expand the game: telling us which systems feel great, which need work, and what they most want to see next. Player feedback will directly shape how the game grows.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to remain in Early Access for roughly six months. This is an estimate, not a fixed commitment. If the community wants more depth and content, we would rather take the time to get it right than leave Early Access on a schedule.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full career loop is already in place, and during Early Access we plan to build on it based heavily on community feedback.

We plan to deepen the simulation, adding more to fighter development, training camps, matchmaking, and the emergent storylines that grow out of a career. We hope to add more content over time, including additional event and card types, more fighters, sponsors, and flavor, and richer fight commentary. We plan to keep polishing the user interface and quality-of-life throughout, informed by how players actually navigate the game, and to run ongoing balance passes on the economy, progression, and fight engine. We also intend to add further Steam features such as achievements and cloud saves.

These are our intentions rather than guarantees. The final scope will be shaped by feedback and by what proves most fun in players' hands.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Cage Empire is playable from start to finish as a single-player management sim. You can found a promotion in one of several regions, scout and sign fighters, negotiate contracts, run training camps, and book and simulate full fight cards with a round-by-round fight engine that resolves bouts on styles, conditioning, and cornering. You manage your finances, facilities, staff, sponsorships, and individual fighter endorsements along the way.

A complete competitive structure is already in: divisional rankings every fighter has to climb, champions and title fights, one-night tournaments, game generated rival promotions that sign and poach talent, a Hall of Fame, and year-by-year progression as fighters rise, peak, age, and retire.

Because this is an early build, expect rough edges. Some systems are still being balanced (the early-game economy in particular) the art is a mix of finished and placeholder assets, and there may be bugs. It is currently Windows-only and single-player. We're releasing now because the core game is genuinely fun to play, and we want to build the rest of it alongside the community.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price should remain the same forever, regardless of early access or final release, unless there is a Steam sale of course.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want Early Access to be a genuine conversation. We plan to gather feedback through the Steam Community Discussions and our community Discord, read bug reports and suggestions closely, and use them to prioritize fixes, balance changes, and new features. We'll share what we're working on, ask players directly which systems and content matter most to them, and let that feedback steer the roadmap. The players who help shape the game during Early Access will have a real hand in what it becomes.”

About This Game

Take over a fledgling MMA promotion and build it into a global empire. Sign the fighters, make the matches, and live with every decision from the purse you offer a rising star to the game plan their corner screams in the fifth round.

Cage Empire is a deep management simulation for fight fans. You are the promoter: scout and sign talent, negotiate contracts clause by clause, book cards that sell tickets, and send your fighters into a round-by-round fight engine where styles, conditioning, and cornering actually decide the night. Grow from a smoky local club show into a marquee brand with champions, sponsors, and rivals gunning for your talent.

Build Your Promotion

  • Found your promotion in one of six regions, the bright lights and high costs of Las Vegas, the grappling heartland of Rio, the wrestling factory of Dagestan, and more... each with its own talent pool, crowds, and economy.
  • Upgrade your venue, gym, and medical center, and install facilities that pay off over a career.
  • Watch every dollar: a weekly financial ledger breaks down your income and spending, tracks the trend, and warns you before the bills bury you.

Sign and Develop Fighters

  • Every fighter is built from real attributes (striking, power, grappling, chin, cardio, fight IQ) plus a martial-arts base, a personality, hidden traits, and a ceiling they may or may not reach.
  • Run training camps ahead of booked fights: set the focus or let the corner call it, and sweat the camp injuries and short-notice replacements.
  • Scout the regional talent pool for prospects before your rivals find them.

Make the Matches

  • Book fight cards across weight classes for men and women, put belts on the line, and work a divisional ranking system every fighter has to climb — no shortcuts for a big name.
  • Run old-school one-night tournaments where fighters go multiple times and damage carries over.
  • Stoke rivalries and money fights that pack the house.

Watch Them Fight

  • A round-by-round simulation resolves every bout on styles, game plans, conditioning, and heart.. not a coin flip.
  • A skilled corner reads the round and changes the plan between rounds… if the fighter is the type to listen. A good cutman keeps a cut fighter in the fight.
  • Cuts, injuries, doctor stoppages, missed weight, and play-by-play commentary that reads the momentum and the stakes.

Run the Business

  • Negotiate contracts as a real trade space... show money, win bonuses, signing bonuses, title-shot promises, champion's clauses, PPV points in live, back-and-forth talks.
  • Land company sponsorships and broker brand endorsements for your fighters that lift morale and make them harder to poach.
  • Fend off AI-run rival promotions that sign, poach, and build their own stars while you sleep.

Build a Legacy

  • Crown champions, chase undefeated runs, and induct the greats into your Hall of Fame with a proper ceremony.
  • Review each year as fighters rise, peak, age, and retire and turn a no-name prospect into a box-office star.
How far can you take it? Sign the talent, make the fights, and build your Cage Empire.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

AI has been utilized to generate some graphics, coding improvements, and for various martial art style research.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Cage Empire: MMA Manager simulates the sport of mixed martial arts and contains depictions of combat-sport violence. Fights are resolved through round-by-round text commentary and stylized fighter portraits rather than graphic 3D visuals. Players will read descriptions of strikes, knockouts, and submissions, and will see references to cuts and bleeding, fight-ending injuries, and doctor stoppages. A fighter's portrait reflects the damage they take during and after a bout.
As a management simulation, the game also deals with real-world aspects of professional combat sports, including weight cutting, athlete injuries and recovery, and disciplinary matters such as fines and suspensions. These are presented matter-of-factly within a business and career context.

The game contains no sexual content or nudity, and does not depict sexual assault, self-harm, or the graphic use or abuse of drugs or alcohol. Fighter trash talk and press-conference dialogue may include occasional mild language.
