About This Game

ABOUT THIS GAME

Beneath the city, the dead never stopped playing.

There's a league down here the living don't get invited to. Nine bloodlines of monster, floodlights in the dark, and a very old trophy nobody's willing to talk about.

You're the new manager. Congratulations? The last one is still missing.

Veil City is a gothic roguelike football manager. You draft a squad of seven, bind them with pacts, and try to survive a season in the under-city. You never kick a ball. You choose who plays, what they've promised, and what you're willing to spend to win.

DRAFT MONSTERS

Build a squad from nine bloodlines — Vampire, Werewolf, Witch, Reaper, Changeling, Demonspawn, Phantom, Banshee, Revenant — across five schools of magic and five rarity tiers, from Mortal to Apocalyptic.

Bloodlines that share blood strike harder together. Schools that stack turn a squad into a machine. Neither happens by accident, and the draft rarely gives you what you wanted.

EVERY BARGAIN IS PAID

A cursed player is not a bad player. A pact hands over real power and takes something back — a flaw that fires mid-match, at the worst possible moment, usually while you're winning.

Sign them anyway. Sever the pact later and they keep everything it bought them. Or don't, and let them play bound.

But a curse inflicted on you — by a broken wheel, a rival's hex, a bad night in a ruined chapel — pays nothing at all.

MANAGE THE CLUB

Wages come due whether you win or not. Build up to three facilities, chase artifacts and power cards through the market, work the transfer list, and sabotage your oponents.

Pick a team identity — Aggressor, Fortress, Scholar, Tactician, Underdog, Gladiator, Specialist, Cursed Gambit.

WATCH IT UNRAVEL

Matches play out live. You call gambits from the touchline: throw everyone forward, park the bus, bribe the official, or invoke your opponent's ruin and watch their own pacts turn on them.

Then the season ends in a tournament, and a tournament can end in penalties.

CLIMB THE LADDER

Twenty-one rungs of Ascension, each one scoring your run higher than the last. New trials stack as you climb: rivals who draft to win, lean times, scattered blood, cursed rivals, the long dark.

At the summit, Apotheosis. The city itself plays against you, and the debts you took on all season come due at once.

AND ONE MORE THING

Seven Veils rewrite the rules of an entire season — including one where the economy simply stops. Fifteen greater curses that keep their own terms. Fourteen encounters that never offer a safe option. And a hotseat mode where up to sixteen managers can share one machine and ruin each other's seasons in person.

Draft monsters. Sign the cursed, the gifted, and the frankly concerning. Win the season — and try not to give the board a reason to replace you the way they replaced the last one.
