What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I want to launch Pro Birder into Early Access to gain community feedback on desired new features, systems, and experiences in the game. I am constantly monitoring socials as the game is showcased more and more, and I would love to begin incorporating steam reviews into my design feedback system as soon as possible.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“My goal is to keep Pro Birder in Early Access for roughly six months. This could end up being as long as one whole year of Early Access but I do not intend on the full release of the game being any further out than a year from Early Access release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“My plan is to implement the following features while I work my way up to this game's full release. Some of these features may make the Early Access release as well depending on development prioritization and pace:

- More maps
- More game modes
- More main playable bird species
- More shared map activities for earning extra points
- Additional environment & visual improvements
- Enhanced flight modes and physics
- Steam Achievements
- Easter Eggs”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Pro Birder contains three or four main playable bird species covering two different maps (the river cove & downtown city area) with shared activities between. Shared activities include things like time-attack races, risk bonuses, flight trick bonuses, task series completion, the location of special items, and then other additional gameplay bonuses - all resulting in a higher score for a specific run. Multiplayer will make its debut in the Early Access version of Pro Birder, but may change in form over the course of the work up to full release.

EA will also include the launch of a publicly viewable leaderboard where players can show off their Pro Birder status and score to friends, as well as compare against other friends scores on steam.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I do not plan on changing the price of the game from the price set for Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I am actively collecting comments on social media (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube). I plan to keep doing this as well as continually update the Steam community with patch notes, roadmaps, feedback reviews, and more. Steam will be my primary way of communicating with players and I will encourage people to leave comments in the form of reviews or messages on my Steam announcements themselves.”

About This Game

At its core, Pro Birder is an arcade high-score game about being a bird. Fly fast, pull off tricks, and build up a score — then land clean to keep it. The map is designed to be filled with many different ways to increase your score, or lose it all to the cat in the bushes you didn't see.

Momentum-based flight built for flow: dive for speed, climb, tumble, and thread the gaps. Easy to pick up gameplay with a deep enough design to master like a professional birder.

⚠️PRO BIRDER DEVELOPMENT ⚠️

Pro Birder is currently in Pre-Alpha development, shipping into Early Access in October 2026. The game is being rapidly developed alongside community feedback and is still very open to design and directional changes.

SCORE & GROW

  • Tricks, stunts, and stylish flying build your score while you're in the air. Landing safely banks it. Crashing doesn't.

  • Catch food to grow, and work your way up to bigger birds — each one changes how you fly.

THE WORLD

  • A handcrafted lakeside cove to explore and master, full of wildlife that doesn't always have your best interests in mind.

PLAY TOGETHER

  • Fly solo, or host an online lobby and share the sky with friends.

LEADERBOARDS

  • Steam leaderboards at launch

FUTURE ROADMAP AFTER RELEASE

  • More maps, more bird species, new mechanics & game modes, and other community requested features

Thanks for being apart of the development of Pro Birder — and be sure to wishlist the game on Steam to get notified about demos and Early Access opportunities.
