What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Ashspire is already a complete, fun roguelite: three heroes with their own abilities, three arenas, and a deep pool of relics, armor and upgrades. Early Access lets players join in while I finish the game.

Before full release I plan to add two more levels, a fourth hero, more items and a quest system. Player feedback on the Steam forums will directly shape balance, difficulty and which content comes first. (Feedback button in game can also be used to provide feedback)

I'm committed to seeing Ashspire through to full release and to supporting it with updates after launch.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Maybe a year. I'm adding new content all the time, but at a certain point I will say the game is complete.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Way more content, enemies, levels, items, bosses and a polished bug free (or close to it) experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Ashspire is fully playable in its endless survival mode. The current build includes:

- 3 arenas: the Grand Hall, The City and The Alley. Each run is timed and ends in a boss fight.
- 3 heroes: the Warrior, the Mage and the Gunner, each with their own weapon and special ability
- 38 relics (11 active, 27 passive) that level up without a cap, plus 36 relic combos
- 13 armor pieces across the heroes, each with 2 upgrade paths
- 8 enemy types, 4 elite variants, 3 mini-bosses and a final boss
- Movement: double jump, wall-climbing, ledge grabs, a dash and a grappling chain
- Permanent upgrades bought with souls between runs
- A merchant, loot chests, shrines and events inside each arena
- 3 difficulty levels
- Co-op: 2-player split-screen and online play for up to 3 players
- Full controller support”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes but I wont raise the price until version 1.0”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“There will be a feedback button in the game that allows player to easily send me feedback. In addition I will be monitoring any steam forum posts.”

About This Game

Ashspire is a first-person horde-survival roguelite. You pick one of three fighters, each with their own unique move set and equipment. Each run you have 10 minutes to find the boss, kill it and escape, the run gets harder and harder the longer you stay, the gear you scrape together is what decides whether you make it.

Build Variety - Start as a warrior, a mage, or a gunner, each has access to a multitude of unique equipment that completely changes the playstyle. Each level up grants you access to new item or to level up existing items. A stopwatch that stops time, a ice orb that freezes all enemies, a magic unicorn that begrudgingly lets you ride it, a disco ball that makes all enemies dance until they drop and soooo much more. Items can combine to make new items with unique effects, the builds are endless!

A metric ton of enemies to kill - an endless horde of rats, orcs, skeletons, spiders, weird floating eye things and much more!
