About This Game

🏁 The game begins the moment you slide

VOXEL DRIFT RACER is a top-down arcade drift racer set in a world built entirely out of voxels.
Yank the handbrake just before the apex, hold the angle with throttle and counter-steer, and fire yourself at the exit — how precisely you can repeat that one move is the whole game.

Handling is built on velocity decomposition and a friction circle model. Your tires only have so much grip to give, and every bit you spend on acceleration is grip you no longer have for turning. Drifting isn't a canned animation triggered by a button — it's the result of managing load and traction yourself. Newcomers aren't locked out, though: three levels of drift assist (0–2) and steering presets get you sliding on lap one.

🎮 12 Modes

Racing
  • ⏱ Time Attack — set your own lap count and race your own record. Your personal-best ghost runs alongside you.
  • 🌀 Drift Trial — 60 seconds to bank drift score. Angle, speed and duration all multiply, and an unbroken combo makes the score climb fast.
  • 🛣 Free Run — no clock, no rules. Learn the line, test a setup.
  • 🏁 Grand Prix — race up to 8 AI drivers that actually read corners and brake for them. Three CPU difficulties, plus optional adaptive difficulty (DDA).
Arena (6 modes)
  • 💎 Crystal Rush — 75s. Grab more of the falling crystals than anyone else.
  • 🌩 Storm Survival — 60s. The safe zone keeps shrinking. Last one driving wins.
  • 🦠 Infection — 90s. The infected spread it by contact. Run, or infect everyone.
  • 🎨 Color Zone — 75s. Everywhere you drive turns your color. Most territory at the buzzer takes it.
  • 🪨 Boulder Rush — 90s. Outrun the rolling boulders. In the final 30 seconds they come twice as fast.
  • 💡 Light Trail — 90s, up to 4 players. Your car leaves a wall of light behind it. Touch anyone's wall — including your own — and you're out.
Special
  • ☠ Death Rally — floating tracks with no guardrails. Leave the road and you fall.
  • 🏆 Campaign — a full championship season against 7 fixed rivals. Each round changes the track and the rules; points decide the champion.

📈 Everything you unlock, you earn

There is no premium currency. Every car, part and slot is bought with coins you win by racing — payouts scale with finishing position, score, medals and field size — while your pilot level gates the higher tiers.
  • 9 cars — from the starter Neon Drifter to the top-tier Axolotl S. Engine power, top speed, grip, drift tendency, handbrake bite, steering rate and mass all differ. A car that wants to slide and a car that wants to hook up are two completely different jobs.
  • 17 parts — engines, tires and bodies. Every one is a trade-off: buy top speed and you'll give up rotation.
  • 5 upgrade lines — stack tiered upgrades on top of your parts.
  • Medals — every track × mode combination has bronze/silver/gold target times and scores. Golding all 12 tracks is the real endgame.
  • 34 achievements — from your first drift to a 25x combo, owning every car, or a 3-win online streak. Each pays out coins.
  • Daily & weekly challenges — fresh objectives every day, with bigger payouts on the weekly.
  • Ghosts — your best run per track and mode is saved automatically and replays alongside you. Chase the weekly #1 ghost, or export yours as a code and challenge a friend directly.

🧱 Build it, paint it, share it

Half of this game is the editors.
  • Track editor — drop a handful of points and a Catmull-Rom spline turns them into a flowing circuit. Tune road width per section, add elevation, surfaces, guardrails, boost pads, obstacles and scenery — then share the whole track as a single code.
  • Voxel car editor — sculpt your ride one 3D pixel at a time. Feed it side and top images for automatic voxelization, or import a MagicaVoxel (.vox) file directly. Wheels are modeled separately.
  • Custom cars — distribute 33 points across 6 stats and build your own spec.
  • Arena editor — lay out your own arena fields too.
  • And the car you built renders on your opponents' screens exactly as you made it. Seeing your own voxel machine in someone else's mirror is the point.

🌐 Online multiplayer

You're connected to the official servers automatically. Every racing, arena and survival mode runs in real time for 2–8 players.
  • Quick match — drops you straight into a waiting lobby regardless of track. If it's a custom map you don't own, the host sends it to you.
  • Room codes — share a code and race with friends only.
  • Spectator mode — sit out and follow the leader instead.
  • Online leaderboards — per track and mode, server-side, with submissions validated before they're accepted.
  • Live player counts appear on the mode cards and track cards, so you can always see where people actually are.

🎵 A soundtrack that is generated, not played back

There are no music files. The synthwave score is synthesized in real time; the engine note tracks your revs and the tire squeal responds to slip angle. Take the same corner twice and it never sounds quite the same.

⚙ Presentation & options

  • Visual style — switch between realistic rendering and toon shading. Light/dark UI themes, plus a separate world-mood setting for the track itself.
  • Accessibility — colorblind palettes, UI scaling, steering presets, three levels of drift assist.
  • Controls — fully remappable keyboard plus Xbox gamepad support with rumble, including menu navigation.
  • Languages — full Korean and English.
  • Light on your machine — nearly everything is generated in code, so the install is small, and it falls back gracefully when WebGPU isn't available — integrated graphics are enough.
  • No microtransactions — no loot boxes, no coin packs. Buy it once and it's all there.

⏱ How long is it?

Roughly 3–5 hours to finish the campaign, and 15+ hours to gold-medal all 12 tracks. Add the track editor and online play and there's no ceiling.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Some pre-generated 2D illustrations (menu backgrounds, mode card images, app icon, and store capsule artwork) were created with AI image generation tools and reviewed by a human. The game itself contains no live-generated AI content — all gameplay, 3D models, audio, and code are human-made.
