About This Game

Welcome to the cage. You are Subject №... honestly, who cares?

I Keep Reincarnating as a Rat in the Mad Scientist’s Maze is an atmospheric adventure game where death isn't a game over—it’s just the start of another meaningless loop. You wake up as a rat in the dead center of a massive, cold, unforgiving labyrinth. There are no tutorials, no pity, and most likely, no point to any of this.

Death is Your Only Constant

Danger lurks around every single corner. Some traps are glaringly obvious. Others will crush your tiny furry body before you even realize you stepped on the trigger. In this place, everything is lethal: a wrong turn, a sudden noise, or a split-second of hesitation. But when darkness takes you, your eyes snap open right back at the starting line. The only difference? The number stamped on your back just went up by one. Time to run again.

A Graveyard of Your Own Making

The deeper you crawl, the more bodies you’ll stumble upon. These aren't strangers. They are your own past incarnations. Each cold, stiff rat corpse with a lower number on its back serves as a silent monument to your wasted lives and stupid mistakes. They won’t help you find a way out. They just sit there, mocking you, proving that you’ve already died here. And you will die here again.

No Answers. No Hope.

Don't look for hidden lore, deep philosophy, or cosmic explanations as to why the Mad Scientist built this place. Maybe he just forgot to clean the cage. The maze doesn't care about you, and this game doesn't promise a happy ending. Who’s to say an exit even exists? And even if it does… what changes for a rat that knows nothing but dying and starting over?

Features

  • Pure, Unadulterated Hopelessness: Experience a bleak, nihilistic atmosphere where your best efforts guarantee absolutely nothing.

  • The Necropolis of Your Failures: Stumble upon the corpses of your previous runs—the only permanent decoration in this shifting hell.

  • Brutal, Unforgiving Traps: Navigate a mechanical meat-grinder that ruthlessly punishes even a second of hesitation.

  • Low-Profile Survival: Avoid hazards, blend into the shadows, and keep moving forward. Mostly because there is no going back.

  • Zero False Promises: A game that doesn't feed you hope, refuses to give answers, and honestly tells you: this might all be for nothing.

Please note: All locations, visuals, and gameplay mechanics shown on this page are early prototypes. The game is actively in development, and many elements will be tweaked, overhauled, and polished along the way.
