About This Game

WELCOME TO AMSTERDAM

You arrive in Amsterdam with an ageing estate car, a modest amount of cash and a phone that never stays quiet.

Your first opportunity is hardly the beginning of a criminal empire. A radio DJ named David has ten bags of weed to sell. Pick them up, pay him in cash and bring them back to your apartment. Find customers, make the deliveries and try to turn that first small purchase into enough money for the next one.

Then do it again... only bigger.

Lying Thieves: Amsterdam is a single-player open-world crime game about building a drug distribution operation from the streets up. Buy merchandise from suppliers, move it through the city, assign couriers to incoming orders and step in personally when business gets complicated.

You are not given an empire. You have to build it one delivery at a time.

START WITH TEN BAGS. BUILD A NETWORK.

Every product in your operation has a physical journey. Call a supplier, hear what they have available and decide how much of your cash you are willing to risk. Drive to the pickup, collect the merchandise and bring it safely back to your stash. Only then can it be sold.

At first, every purchase matters. Spend too much and you may have no money left to absorb a loss. Buy too little and profitable orders will pass you by. Keep a larger stock and you can serve bigger customers, but you also leave more cash and merchandise exposed if somebody discovers where you keep it.

New orders arrive while you play. Some are safe, simple and barely worth the fuel. Others demand a large part of your inventory and promise the kind of profit that can change your position overnight. Take the reliable money, hold your stock for something better or gamble on a major order with much more to lose.

Your operation never becomes passive income. It becomes a busier, more valuable and more dangerous machine that constantly asks you to make decisions.

PUT THE RIGHT DRIVER ON THE RIGHT JOB

You do not have to deliver every package yourself. Use a team of couriers and keep several orders moving while you drive through Amsterdam, meet suppliers or handle your own business elsewhere in the city.

Every courier has a different personality, fee and combination of strengths. One may be quick and fearless but far too reckless for valuable cargo. Another may be discreet and dependable but struggle when a customer changes the plan. Loyalty, driving ability, nerve and experience all influence who you can trust when the stakes rise.

Choose how they approach each delivery. Send them quietly and accept a longer journey for less risk. Let them find a balanced route, or tell them to move fast when the payout matters more than subtlety. The quickest option may save an urgent order... or turn a routine delivery into your next emergency.

As your reputation grows, more customers find you. Order values increase, several deliveries can be active at once and occasional high-value opportunities offer three to five times the usual payout. Those are the jobs that can make your night, provided you have the stock, the driver and the nerve to take them.

WHEN THINGS GO WRONG, THE PHONE RINGS

A courier's car loses power with your merchandise inside. A customer suddenly refuses to pay the agreed price. Police attention rises around a delivery. Somebody threatens the driver, the cargo or your margin.

Your couriers call you when a decision cannot wait. Pay to solve the problem and protect the package. Accept a smaller payout. Tell them to take the risk. Cut your losses. Or if you have time in your busy schedule, take over the delivery yourself.

Every choice has a visible effect on the money, danger and people involved. Saving a package may destroy its profit. Refusing to help may protect your cash and cost you a courier's loyalty. A customer offering twenty percent less may still leave a margin, or turn the entire order into a loss. You will often have seconds to decide while several other deliveries continue moving across the city.

Choose to intervene and the problem becomes a physical objective in the open world. Drive to the handover, recover the package and finish what your courier could not. Multiple deliveries and missions can remain active at the same time, so the question is rarely whether you can solve a problem. It is whether you can reach it before something else goes wrong.

KNOW WHAT YOU EARN... AND WHAT YOU LOSE

Revenue is not profit. Every batch of merchandise remembers what you paid for it and what it ultimately produced. Sales, courier fees, emergency expenses, lost cargo and customer discounts all contribute to the bottom line.

A successful delivery shows exactly what it earned. A bad one shows exactly what it cost you. Recent purchases remain visible as financial results, letting you see which products, decisions and drivers are actually building your operation, and which ones merely keep everybody busy.

Reinvest the profit in more stock, take a chance on a higher-risk product, keep cash available for emergencies or spend it on the cars you once could not afford. Growth creates opportunity, but it also creates more ways to lose what you have built.

YOUR HOME. YOUR GARAGE. YOUR STASH.

Daniel's Amsterdam apartment is more than a save point. It is the physical centre of the operation. Deliver incoming merchandise to the stash, collect packages for orders you handle personally and manage the vehicles parked outside.

The more valuable your inventory becomes, the more attention the stash attracts. Improve security to lower the danger, but never assume the building is untouchable. If somebody attacks it, every courier loses access to the merchandise and the operation stops. Get home, deal with the armed threat and defend the stock before business can continue.

A full stash gives you the power to accept bigger orders. It also gives your enemies something worth taking.

CLIMB INTO MORE DANGEROUS MARKETS

You begin by selling weed because that is all you can afford and all anybody trusts you to move. Prove that you can sell it and new contacts begin to take an interest.

Different suppliers offer different products, prices and personalities. They do not maintain infinite stock and they will not always have another shipment waiting just because you called. Decide when to buy, how much to commit and whether today's offer leaves enough room for profit.

Progression unlocks products such as XTC and cocaine, each with its own purchase quantities, sales units, margins and exposure. A low-risk product may produce steady money across many small orders. High-risk merchandise demands more capital, attracts more trouble and can deliver dramatically larger returns.

The goal is not simply to unlock everything. It is to understand which market you want to control and how much risk your operation can survive.

A CRIME STORY THAT GROWS AROUND YOU

After your first successful dispatches, Amsterdam's established criminals begin to notice Daniel. The main storyline starts while the operation is already running, bringing new contacts, personal conflicts and jobs that cannot be delegated to somebody else.

Take calls from recurring characters and slowly discover the struggle hidden behind their instructions. Pick up passengers and listen while guarded conversations reveal more than intended. Follow moving targets through crowded streets. Steal valuable cars, survive ambushes and carry out hits for people who would rather remain invisible.

The operation and storyline exist in the same world at the same time. A courier can call with a crisis while you are on the way to a story mission. A profitable customer may be waiting while you lose the police. Completing a storyline can introduce a supplier, unlock a new product or change what becomes possible without erasing the business you have already built.

Daniel begins as an unknown driver with ten bags of weed. Where he ends up depends on how well you turn other people's opportunities, failures and secrets into power of your own.

MISSIONS TAKE PLACE IN THE CITY, NOT ON A BOARD

The people around Daniel need more than a manager behind a phone:

  • Collect and deliver packages through physical handovers, and escape when a drop-off turns into a police ambush.

  • Drive passengers across Amsterdam while fully voiced conversations unfold inside the car.

  • Shadow moving vehicles without falling too far behind or getting close enough to raise suspicion.

  • Steal requested cars, evade the police and deliver vehicles you were never meant to keep.

  • Track down targets and carry out hits against people or vehicles.

  • Take over failed courier runs and personally recover deliveries in progress.

  • Rush home when the stash is attacked and defend the heart of your operation.

Failing matters. Lose a target, reveal yourself during surveillance, abandon a passenger or die during an assignment and the job is over. Commit visible crimes and your wanted level rises, bringing increasingly determined police into the pursuit. Officers chase by car, search for you across the road network and can leave their vehicles to continue the fight on foot.

A PLAYABLE AMSTERDAM

Explore a dense, creatively adapted recreation of the area within Amsterdam's Singelgracht. It is built for driving, pursuits and street-level gameplay rather than as a perfect one-to-one map, while retaining the canals, narrow roads, bridges, row houses and atmosphere that give the city its identity.

Traffic squeezes through intersections. Pedestrians cross the road. Bicycles crowd the pavement, boats fill the canals and police patrol regardless of whether Daniel currently wants their attention. The city continues around the operation rather than waiting for the next mission to begin.

Sun, fog, drizzle and heavy rain transform the streets across a full day-and-night cycle. Wet roads shine under streetlights, puddles form across the asphalt and reduced grip changes how a fast car behaves when a pursuit turns through another narrow corner.

Travel by car, bicycle or boat. Drive carefully when the boot contains expensive cargo, or accept the possible consequences when the shortest route through Amsterdam involves far too much speed and far too little road.

BUILD A GARAGE WORTH THE RISK

Daniel's first estate car gets the job done. Success lets you aim considerably higher.

Buy and collect vehicles ranging from inexpensive daily drivers to high-performance cars worth well over one hundred thousand euros. Every owned car keeps its damage, appearance, upgrades and permanent Dutch registration.

Repair your favourites, repaint them, improve their performance, upgrade the tyres for more grip and fit custom rims in different designs and colours. Build a practical fleet for the operation or spend an irresponsible amount of criminal profit on the car you actually want to drive.
