About This Game

DESCEND INTO THE ASYLUM

The Gentleman’s Rise is a 2D eldritch action Souls-like set within a corrupted 1930s asylum.

Armed with an eldritch scythe, the Gentleman must descend through ruined wards, confront the institution’s twisted inhabitants, and uncover what waits deeper within.

Death is expected.

What matters is what you learn from it.

FIGHT WITH PRECISION

Combat rewards patience, timing and deliberate positioning.

• Chain together scythe attacks.

• Dodge through dangerous openings.

• Block to reduce incoming damage.

• Parry at the right moment to stun enemies.

• Interrupt and reposition threats with Eldritch Pull.

• Adapt to melee attackers, ranged pressure and increasingly unnatural enemies.

The asylum is unforgiving, but its rules can be mastered.

DEATH IS PROGRESS

Defeated enemies leave behind Sanity that can be used to strengthen the Gentleman.

Invest in:

• Strength to increase physical attack damage.

• Vitality to increase maximum health.

• Intelligence to strengthen eldritch abilities.

When the Gentleman dies, his carried Sanity remains where he fell. Return to recover it—or lose it permanently by dying again.

Completed levels can be replayed, allowing players to gather more Sanity, improve their skills or challenge the asylum without relying on additional upgrades.

HARNESS THE ELDRITCH

The Gentleman’s abilities expand as he descends.

Manipulate enemies with Eldritch Pull, control space with Eldritch Pool, survive desperate encounters through Eldritch Transformation, and corrupt distant targets with Eldritch Bolt.

These powers are not separate from the asylum’s corruption.

They are born from it.

FACE WHAT WAITS WITHIN

Each boss tests a different part of the combat system.

Learn attack patterns, recognize visual cues, interrupt dangerous actions and exploit the brief openings created by precise play.

Brute force may carry the Gentleman only so far.

Eventually, he must master himself.
