About This Game

Minus Sixty is a single-player, first-person, story-driven adventure set in extreme cold. As Viktor, you will explore the environment, gather resources, craft the supplies you need, build fires to stay warm, and manage a limited inventory as you make your way toward the village. Along the way, you will use the tools you find to overcome obstacles and solve light environmental puzzles.

Mechanical engineer Viktor is sent to a remote village where temperatures are said to drop as low as -60°C. His task is to repair the coal boiler that serves as the village’s only source of heat. Arrogant and confident in his own abilities, Viktor never expects the brutal cold to become a challenge of its own.

Begin the Journey

Leave the station and head toward the village through the freezing landscape. Viktor’s goal is to restore the coal boiler that provides the village with heat.

Explore the area, find the resources and equipment you need, and follow the path toward the village.

Prepare for the Cold

The extreme cold is a constant threat throughout the journey. Gather resources, craft the materials you need to build a fire, and keep your body temperature from dropping too far.

Use the materials you collect to build fires whenever you need to warm up. Decide when to use your limited resources as you continue your journey.

Find the Tools You Need

Find the equipment and tools you will need along the way. Use a lantern, an axe, and other useful items while carefully managing the limited space in your inventory.

Move, rotate, and rearrange items to make the most of the space you have. Choose which tools and supplies are worth carrying with you.

Find a Way Forward

Use the tools, objects, and clues around you to get past the obstacles blocking your path. Examine the environment and interact with the mechanisms you find to work out how to move forward.

You will come across different environmental challenges and light puzzles throughout the journey. Use the tools you carry and the objects you find to solve them.

Reach the Village

Make it through the journey, reach the village, and take the final steps toward completing Viktor’s task.

Interact with the mechanisms around the broken heating system and bring Viktor’s journey to an end.

A Note from the Developers

We developed Minus Sixty as a university graduation project. The game was initially inspired by Jack London’s short story “To Build a Fire,” especially its themes of extreme cold, human overconfidence, and survival against nature. We wanted to create a short but complete, story-driven experience. The game can be completed in approximately 45–60 minutes.
