About This Game

Welcome to Pulse Check - a online social deduction game - set in a hospital where the patients need treatment, the staff need supervision, and a Nurse just put a cigarette in a patient’s mouth.

Players enter a barely functioning hospital as Nurses, Fake Nurses, and a Head Doctor trying to keep it all together.

Nurse

Nurses complete hospital assignments, prepare treatments, monitor patients, and protect the hospital’s reputation. Since treatment reports record what happened but not who caused it, paying attention to your coworkers is occasionally more useful than paying attention to your job.

Fake Nurse

Fake Nurses carry the same equipment, access, and convincing task lists as the people trying to stop them. They complete legitimate assignments to maintain their cover while secretly sabotaging patient care.

Head Doctor

The Head Doctor is the only publicly trusted player, which is unfortunate because everyone else provides the evidence. They oversee patient discharges, lead meetings, and name one employee for firing, after which the staff decides whether the firing should be overruled or sustained.

Gameplay

Complete hospital assignments, prepare treatments, monitor vitals, and observe where everyone goes when they think nobody is watching.

Every discharged patient leaves a review between one and five hearts based on their treatment. The review changes Hospital Stability, the treatment report becomes evidence, and the empty bed is prepared for the next person unfortunate enough to arrive.

Players use reports, suspicious routes, and proximity voice chat to build their case. The Head Doctor chooses someone to fire, while the rest of the staff can confirm the decision, veto it, or quietly avoid taking responsibility.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Pulse Check contains mild cartoon violence and medical themes. Players care for AI patients in a hospital setting while hidden imposters attempt to secretly sabotage treatments and endanger patients. Patients may become critically ill or die in a stylized, low-poly, comedic, non-graphic manner. Players can also use lighthearted emotes, including rude gestures. The game does not contain graphic gore, dismemberment, sexual content, or depictions of real-world self-harm.
