Why Early Access?

“Early Access allows for the game to receive player feedback while still in development. It allows for a more community driven approach when deciding the direction the game and its development. This is especially important when it comes to the Backrooms genre with all its levels, lore etc. As a result live community feedback is crucial in order to create the best possible Backrooms experience, especially as an Indie developer.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“My rough estimation is two years. However, the duration of Early Access can vary depending on development needs and community feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“As time goes on, more levels, entities and mechanics will be added. The game should only leave Early Access once the playerbase deems it ready to do so. At the end of Early Access the game is planned to have roughly 30 levels.
My main goal in the long run is and will always be to provide the true Backrooms experience for everyone.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At the beginning of Early Access the game has the following features:
Five Levels, some of which featuring infinite procedural generation. These are polished and should provide a fun, unique experience. Core functionalities such as Coop-Multiplayer, a sanity system and inventory management are present as well.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game's price should always reflect what it's worth, so the price will increase slowly and slightly as new updates are released.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As player feedback during development is an important aspect of Early Access, the community will be closely integrated into the direction of game development. A discord server will be available to join at release for bug reports, feedback, suggestions, pollings, community discussions and more.”
