A stay-resident RPG whose hero fights all by himself. He does the fighting — but when he gets bored he climbs out of the game window to wander around your desktop and take naps. Send him back, let him rest, or let him scavenge. A comedic little roguelite RPG.

About This Game

The hero fights on his own — and slacks off on his own

Inside a small window parked in the corner of your desktop, your hero fights automatically (and reluctantly). All you have to do is watch. There is just one problem: he is lazy.

When his motivation runs out, he climbs out of the battle screen and starts slacking off on your desktop.
He sits on the windows you have open, wanders along your taskbar, and falls asleep right there.
He will not get in the way of your work — but the game will not get anywhere either.

A by-the-book RPG

Underneath all of that, this is a properly traditional RPG.
You get classic turn-based RPG battles, exactly the way you remember them.
Fight, Run, Magic, Defend — put the commands to work and climb the tower. There are herbs, too, naturally.
You can buy gear, and you will find some along the way. Just remember that weapons and armor do nothing at all until you actually equip them.

The hero's party is a party of three, and you are free to build it however you like. That is the classic way, after all.

Step in now and then and things go a little smoother

There are no clicking contests here and no daily chores. Play it as a normal RPG, or just leave it running. Still, when your hero is off slacking, you should probably go collect him once in a while. He is supposed to be the hero, after all.

Even his slacking gets you a little something.

  • Sleep: HP and motivation come back, and he sometimes returns with a buff.

  • Scavenge: He forgets the battle entirely and wanders your desktop. He might come back with pocket change or a consumable.

  • Get hauled back by a party member: The hero returns to battle on his own, but expect some unnecessary chatter on the way.

Retreat and get stronger!

Aim for the 100th floor of the Demon Tower. In this world, thanks to assorted blessings, heroes simply do not die. They do not die — but the enemies keep getting stronger. Once you cannot climb any higher, retreat and head back to the tavern in town. The princess may get cross about it, but going home pays.
Spend the mana you earned in battle to power your hero up, then go for the 100th floor again. Collect enough abilities and the adventure keeps getting easier.

Rescue the princess with some dependable companions

  • A cleric who lectures, a mage with no MP discipline, a thief who opens chests uninvited. Adventure with the party members every RPG has.

  • Boots of Running Away, a Legendary-ish Sword, a Cursed Helmet that is not actually cursed. Plenty of gear whose descriptions you should not trust.

  • A weapon shop licensed by the Demon Army, an inn with a branch on every floor, a treasure chest parked somewhere suspiciously convenient. All the classics.

A game that stays resident on your desktop

  • You can enjoy this game while you get on with your work on the same PC.

  • When things get dicey, tuck it into the system tray. Show/hide and mute are there to help, too.

  • Please do not play it while you are on the clock.

  • While you are studying, though — that is probably fine.
