What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Second Nature: Night Authority is built around repeatable jobs, progression, and the feeling of living and working within a hidden vampire society. Early Access will allow us to develop these systems alongside players, using their feedback to improve balance, progression, mission variety, and the overall experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect the game to remain in Early Access for approximately 6 to 12 months. This estimate may change depending on player feedback, development progress, and the amount of additional content added during Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the game with additional jobs, abilities, equipment, enemies, locations, progression options, and improvements to the city. Existing systems will also receive further balancing, polish, and variety based on community feedback. Our goal is to make each rank feel more meaningful and give players more ways to build their life and reputation within the vampire authority.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the core first-person vampire gameplay, an open city to explore, repeatable night jobs, combat abilities, money-based progression, upgrades, and a structured rank system. Players can complete work for the hidden vampire authority, grow stronger, improve their efficiency, and gain access to more dangerous responsibilities. The main gameplay loop is playable, while additional content, polish, balancing, and variety will continue to be added throughout development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. We currently plan to keep the game at the same price during Early Access and after the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback will be an important part of development. The community will be able to share feedback, report issues, suggest new content, and discuss balancing through Steam Discussions and our community channels. Feedback will help shape new jobs, abilities, progression systems, quality-of-life improvements, and the overall direction of the game.”

About This Game

Become a Vampire Blood Sorcerer

You were once a human blood sorcerer who attempted to steal the power of vampirism. The ritual failed and left you dying, until an ancient vampire completed your transformation.

Now the Princess considers you both dangerous and useful. Placed under the control of a hidden vampire authority, you must work through the night, master the unstable combination of sorcery and vampire blood inside you, and earn your place in vampire society.

Second Nature: Night Authority is a single-player, first-person open-world vampire action game focused on supernatural movement, blood abilities, repeatable night jobs, character progression, and building your influence across a modern city.

Work for the Night Authority

Wake inside one of your hideouts, check the authority phone, choose your work, prepare what you need, and head into the city.

Complete jobs to earn money and Rank Points, then return to your shelter and sleep to begin another working night. Sleeping advances the game, refreshes available work, and allows new opportunities and events to appear.

Guided quests introduce the game's major systems and lead you through activities such as purchasing hideouts, acquiring and upgrading dead drops, improving your coffin, meeting vendors, unlocking new work, and learning how to use newly available abilities.

Complete Different Types of Night Work

New job categories become available as your authority rank increases.

  • Delivery - Purchase requested goods from suppliers and deliver them to waiting clients.

  • Body Disposal - Handle bodies that the hidden night society needs removed.

  • Kill Contracts - Track down and eliminate marked targets.

  • Debt Collection - Visit debtors and collect what is owed to the authority.

  • Hunter the Hunter - Turn the hunt against vampire hunters operating in the city.

  • Rogue Hunt - Pursue dangerous rogue vampires as one of the authority's highest-ranking operatives.

Jobs are connected to the larger progression loop, giving you money, Rank Points, and access to stronger abilities, tougher enemies, and more valuable opportunities.

Move Through the City with Supernatural Speed

Explore one seamless open world entirely in first person.

Your movement abilities allow you to cross streets, rooftops, buildings, and large sections of the city without relying only on ordinary paths.

Traversal abilities include:

  • Sprinting and climbing

  • Double jumping

  • Air dashing and chained dashes

  • Gliding between rooftops

  • Supernatural shifting

  • Bat-based vision and flight

  • Additional movement powers unlocked through progression

Combine these abilities to create your own routes through the city, escape dangerous situations, and reach objectives quickly.

Master Blood Sorcery and Vampire Abilities

Choose which abilities you want to unlock from the ability menu, then spend resources to improve them.

Abilities provide offensive, defensive, movement, detection, healing, and control options. You are free to choose your preferred unlock order, and reaching maximum progression allows every ability to eventually be unlocked and fully upgraded.

Many supernatural powers consume health when used. Some abilities restore health, but careless use can leave you vulnerable. Managing your blood, hunger, health, and ability usage is an important part of surviving the night.

Feed when necessary, decide when a power is worth its cost, and build an ability setup suited to how you prefer to move and fight.

Rise Through 65 Authority Ranks

Begin as an expendable Night Clerk and climb through 65 individual ranks spread across four authority positions:

  • Night Clerk

  • Enforcer

  • Hound

  • Warden

Increasing your rank can unlock:

  • New abilities and ability upgrades

  • Major skills

  • Permanent buffs

  • New job categories

  • Stronger enemies

  • Additional systems and progression opportunities

Your position within the authority determines the kind of work you receive and the threats you are expected to handle.

Build Your Night Economy

Money is used for more than basic supplies. Invest your earnings into systems that make future nights more profitable and efficient.

You can:

  • Purchase goods needed for delivery work

  • Buy additional hideouts across the city

  • Purchase dead drops that generate passive income

  • Upgrade dead drops to improve their value

  • Upgrade vendor inventories so they bring more goods each day

  • Purchase major skills

  • Improve your coffin

  • Buy consumables and useful supplies

  • Use vending machines to sell stored products

Decide whether to spend your money on immediate power, better access to supplies, safer hideouts, or long-term income.

Survive a City That Reacts to You

The city is permanently covered by night, but it is not free from consequences.

Police can become suspicious of your actions, and exposing your supernatural nature can create additional danger. Civilians can be attacked or fed upon, but reckless violence may attract unwanted attention.

The city also contains hostile humans, police, ghouls, vampires, vampire hunters, and powerful enemies connected to higher-level jobs.

Additional enemies can appear throughout the world outside of normal missions. Defeating them rewards money and Rank Points, providing another way to progress while exploring.

Early Access Content

The Early Access version currently includes:

  • A single-player first-person campaign and progression loop

  • One seamless open-world city

  • 65 authority ranks

  • Four authority positions

  • Multiple repeatable job categories

  • Supernatural movement and combat abilities

  • Blood, hunger, health, sleep, secrecy, and police-suspicion systems

  • Passive-income and vendor progression systems

  • Voiced dialogue for many characters

  • Subtitles and first-person conversations

  • Six manual save slots
