About This Game

Out of Order is a cozy roguelike deckbuilder about running a vending machine. Your stockroom is your deck, every day is one round of restocking, selling, and drafting new products. An increasing weekly quota decides whether your contract survives.

A run is twelve weeks at one venue. Stock the machine well and profit; stock it poorly and customers walk away, perishables spoil, and the weekly quota check ends the contract.

Each day you restock your vending machine from your stockroom, serve the day's customers, and choose one of three new products to add to your deck. Chocolate pays more next to drinks, an energy drink provides a bonus for whoever's next in line, and a pizza slice pays a bonus if it empties the entire machine. Survive all twelve weekly quota checks to win the run.

- 25 venues, from a laundromat to an international airport, each with its own crowd, commission cut, and quota curve

- 27 customers with a variety of appetites. The cop only buys donuts

- 32 machine upgrades: neon signs, cooling, tip jars

- 69 feats that unlock venues, product bundles, upgrades, cabinet skins, and color themes

- Seeded runs (type in a seed, get the exact same run) and auto saves after every decision

- Full controller support

Running a machine means dealing with everything that can, and often does, go wrong. Slots jam, Cooling fails, and overnight break-ins cost you stock. Each venue brings its own trouble: rats at the zoo, pickpockets working the stadium crowd, power cuts at the aquarium. Weather can influence the day too. Storms and heat waves are forecast a day ahead, so you can plan and restock around them; card skimmers and tax audits happen with no warning. Every problem needs a decision: pay a technician to fix it right away, or repair it yourself for free while that part of the machine stays out of action for two days.

Occasionally you'll be offered a second vending machine at a new venue. Take on the extra contract, or decline and stay focused on the one you have.

No microtransactions. No real gambling. Just honest vending.

About the demo: The demo contains four-week runs at four venues, with a reduced product lineup. No breakdowns, no second machines, and progress doesn't carry into the full game.
