About This Demo

Some things must stay buried.

This demo contains Chapter 0 of OAN, a Vietnamese spiritual horror game set in Bac Ninh, 1887.

Binh returns to the family shrine house on the night of a death anniversary. To complete the vigil before dawn, he must move through the darkened compound by the light of a single oil lamp, opening every lock the family left sealed. Behind each lock is a piece of a truth his grandfather spent his life hiding.

But the house is not empty. A folded paper effigy walks the halls, and it does not want the ritual finished.

This demo features:

  • Atmospheric top-down pixel-art horror set in 19th-century Vietnam

  • A single oil lamp as your only light, and your only defense

  • Ritual-based puzzles rooted in real Vietnamese spiritual practice

  • An enemy that disguises, hides, and hunts, never quite the same way twice

  • Two distinct endings

The full game continues Binh's story in later chapters. Wishlist OAN to be notified when it releases.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

This demo (Chapter 0) includes one AI-generated visual asset: an illustration of the five-element (Ngũ Hành) combination lock puzzle located in the West Wing of the house, created with the Grok AI image tool. All other art in the demo, including backgrounds, character sprites, and capsule/key art, is hand-drawn.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

OAN is a horror game built around Vietnamese funeral and ancestor-worship customs. It is set at night inside a family shrine house, and the player is stalked by a supernatural figure made of folded votive paper. There is no combat and no gore. The game deals with death, mourning, and funeral rites left unfinished, and it relies on sustained dread, darkness, and sudden appearances. If the player is caught, a short death sequence plays without blood or graphic detail.
