What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“KleptoMagia brings deckbuilding into real-time combat, and getting the balance between planning, timing, and progression right is essential. Early Access gives us the opportunity to refine that experience with player feedback while expanding the game with new strategies, encounters, and ways to shape your deck.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are currently aiming to leave Early Access in 2027. KleptoMagia will remain in Early Access until we believe the game is ready for its full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand KleptoMagia with additional areas, enemies, spells, Enchants, encounters, playable classes, and story content. The full version is also planned to offer greater run variety, further balancing, and continued improvements to combat clarity and overall polish.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the complete core gameplay loop: build your deck, study the enemy loadout, mark a spell to steal, and fight in real time to claim it. Stolen spells can be modified and combined with Enchants to shape different strategies across procedurally generated runs featuring combats, events, shops, rest sites, and bosses.
The current version includes two acts, two distinct playable classes, and two game modes, with content designed to support repeated runs and different deckbuilding strategies.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to offer KleptoMagia at a lower price during Early Access and increase the price when the full version is released.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback will help guide balancing, combat readability, difficulty, and priorities for future content. We plan to follow Steam discussions, bug reports, and player feedback throughout Early Access, while sharing updates that explain what is changing and why.”

About This Game

KleptoMagia brings deckbuilding into real-time combat.
Your deck is the plan—but timing decides whether it works.

Don’t have the spell you need? Steal it from someone who does.
Before each fight, study your enemies and choose the spell worth taking.
Win to claim it, then modify it to fit your plan.

Combine stolen spells with Enchants, chase powerful synergies, and shape your deck around the strategy you choose. What you steal is what your build becomes.

The Story

The Arcanum has taken away Sera’s magic. Now everyone who knows her is beginning to forget her—and eventually, Sera will forget who she is. The sentence is written in the Registry, a book that controls who can use magic.

To save her lover, Mira used her position inside the Arcanum to slow the process.
But she is already beginning to forget Sera.

Their last chance is a two-person heist: Sera must break into The Chancery and open the Registry chamber so Mira can change her page.
But can they complete the perfect heist before Mira forgets who she is trying to save?

Every Heist Begins on Paper

KleptoMagia’s characters and key environments are brought to life through original, hand-drawn artwork by Emilio Pilliu, an internationally published comic artist whose credits include DC Comics, Dynamite Entertainment, Einaudi, and Star Comics.

His bold, expressive linework defines Sera, Mira, and the world of the Arcanum—giving every heist the energy of a comic book unfolding in real time.

Key Features

  • Real-Time Deckbuilding: Your deck is a battle plan played live. Read enemy casts, time your cards, and use Reacts to survive the pressure.

  • Your Deck Is Your Loot: Before each fight, study the enemy loadout and mark the spell you want to steal. Win to claim it, then decide whether it belongs in your build—or is worth more as gold.

  • Make Stolen Magic Your Own: Modify the spells you keep and combine them with Enchants to unlock new synergies. What you choose to steal determines what your deck can become.

  • Plan the Perfect Heist: Choose your route through combats, events, shops, and rest sites. Every path changes the risks you take, the rewards you find, and the magic available to steal.
