What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Sky Homestead is a systems game: farming, automation, freight and a living economy that all feed each other. Games like this get good by being played. The balance, pacing and quality-of-life that make a cozy game actually cozy come from thousands of real play hours I cannot simulate alone. Early Access lets me tune the loop with the people it's for.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Roughly 9–12 months. I'd rather leave Early Access late and right than early and rough, so treat this as an estimate.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is the complete core loop: the guided story across all islands, farming, the full automation chain (machines, haulers, balloons, drones), the market, restoration, and the Deep Barrow dungeon.

As things stand, 1.0 is planned to add a full alchemy system with its own island(s), deeper NPC relationships and quests, cooking and crew meals, more monsters and dungeon floors, and a broad polish, balance and accessibility pass.

Treat that list as indicative rather than final. I fully intend to grow it as development continues, and what ends up in 1.0 will be shaped by what players ask for once they're actually playing. That's the point of Early Access! :)”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Stable and completable: a guided 100+ objective journey from first axe swing to reconnecting the archipelago, six explorable islands, 35+ machines and production chains, a hireable crew with routes and schedules, sky freight, a reactive market, restoration projects with visible payoffs, and a procedurally generated dungeon. Keyboard and mouse are fully supported; controller support is in progress. You can sink 30+ hours in today.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to raise the price modestly at 1.0 as the content grows. Early Access players get the lower price as a thank-you for being here first.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“A public roadmap, regular devlogs, and a feedback channel inside the game's community hub. We ship updates in visible batches and credit the players whose reports and ideas shaped them, several of the game's systems already exist because earlier playtesters asked the right questions!”

About This Game

Sky Homestead is a cozy farming and automation game set on a chain of floating islands.

Three hundred years ago the Skychain shattered. The bridges fell, the beacons went dark, and the islands drifted apart. Someone has left you a letter, a rickety cottage on the last lit isle, and a very old to-do list.

Farm the floating fields

Till, plant, water, harvest. Fifteen crops, from honest pumpkins to crystalbuds that only grow where the Hum runs strong — the current of crystal energy that once held the Skychain together.

Automate the cozy way

Chop the wood yourself, or build a line that does it while you're somewhere else. Over 35 machines — furnaces, crafters, smelteries, mills — chain into production lines, fed by haulers and powered by the Hum. Start with one furnace. End with an island that runs itself.

A crew with names

Pip the Lumberjack. Tansy the Farmer. Hire helpers who arrive with their own tools, pay them in gold and hot meals, and watch them walk home to their cottages at dusk. They keep working whether you're watching or not.

Rebuild the Skychain

Multiple hand-built islands, each holding ruins that remember what they were. Fund the Restoration Board, watch bridges rebuild themselves plank by plank, and meet the villagers who come home when the lights come back on. Over 100 objectives across roughly 30 hours.

Sail the sky

Chart routes for cargo balloons hauling bulk freight between islands, and send nimble drones point-to-point. A frozen crest, a witchwood, a volcanic forge-isle — each with its own economy to wake up.

Delve when you dare

Beneath the oldest island lies the Deep Barrow: procedurally generated, unlit, and full of things that were left down there for a reason. Bring a sword, bring a lantern, come home with soul crystals. Or don't go at all — the farm doesn't mind.

A note from the one-person crew

Sky Homestead is made by a single developer. Everything you see here — screenshots, trailer, all of it — is the game as it stands today, and it will keep getting better right up to launch and beyond. If these little islands speak to you, a wishlist genuinely moves the needle for a solo project.
