What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Qunxia Survivor is my first game, made as a solo developer. The gameplay framework and core loop are complete, but a survivors-like depends on balance, build variety, and game feel. There is only so much I can learn from testing it on my own. Early Access gives players who love the genre a chance to help shape the martial arts, items, and Resonance systems as I work to make the game worth coming back to.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Roughly 6–12 months, depending on development progress and community feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access, I plan to expand the game in the following areas:
- More martial arts and styles.
- More Inner Arts and ways to build your character.
- More maps, sects, and enemies.
- More playable characters with different starting strengths.
I also plan to keep improving balance, game feel, and the UI based on community feedback. These are plans rather than guarantees; the content and priorities may change as development progresses.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core loop is fully playable: choose a character and martial style, then fight through 20 waves. Between waves, train your attributes, buy martial arts manuals and items, and arrange your Outer Arts, Inner Arts, and Movement Arts. Combine Resonance bonuses with Stored Power, Combos, and training upgrades to keep your build growing.
Current content includes 153 martial arts, 247 items, and 55 enemy types from 8 factions.
Balance and game feel are still being refined, and you may encounter bugs. I will continue releasing updates and fixes throughout Early Access. The game supports Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and English interfaces and subtitles, with Chinese voice-over.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game is completely free during Early Access. I currently expect to keep it free after the full release as well.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Steam Community discussions will be my main channel for feedback, and I plan to check them daily.
Each update will include development notes explaining what changed and why.
For major decisions, such as which martial style to add next or how to approach a substantial balance update, I plan to open a discussion and hear from the community before moving ahead.
I also make videos and have been documenting the development of this game from the very beginning. You're welcome to follow along as I learn, and to share your feedback anytime.”

About This Game

A Martial Arts Take on the Survivors-like Roguelite

Qunxia Survivor is a survivors-like action roguelite set in a world of wuxia: martial artists, rival sects, and wandering heroes. If you enjoy surviving hordes and crafting builds in Vampire Survivors or Brotato, discover a familiar loop built around martial arts, inner cultivation, and treasures from the jianghu.

Choose your character, sect, and martial style. Your Outer Arts activate automatically in the order you arrange them. Keep moving, dash out of danger, and collect the coins and loot scattered across the battlefield.

Core Gameplay

  • Automatic attacks, hands-on survival: Your Outer Arts activate in the sequence you set. Plan your attack order, then use movement and well-timed dashes to stay alive.

  • 20 waves: Between waves, train your attributes, shop for martial arts manuals and unusual items, and rearrange your Outer Arts, Inner Arts, and Movement Arts.

  • Martial Arts Resonance: Combine arts from the same sect or martial style to unlock Resonance bonuses. Shape your build around the combinations you discover.

  • Snowball to mastery: Level up your arts and combine Resonance, Stored Power, Combos, and training bonuses. Invest your earnings in new manuals and items, and turn a promising build into a path to mastery.

What's in the Game Right Now

  • 153 martial arts, including Outer Arts, Inner Arts, and Movement Arts

  • 247 items to discover and build around

  • 55 enemy types from 8 factions

The game is in active development — more martial styles and more content are planned for future updates.

From the Developer

There is just one human on this game's "team": me.

Most of the code, art, animation, and music was created with AI tools: Codex and Claude Code for programming; GPT-IMAGE-2 and Nano Banana for characters, environments, and UI; Seedance for animation; Suno for music; and ElevenLabs for voices and sound effects.

I handle the game design, balance, and game feel, testing and adjusting things over hundreds of playtest sessions.

I've been playing games for almost twenty years. I opened a game engine for the first time in April 2026, and this is the first game with my name in the "developer" field. I hope you enjoy this little corner of the jianghu.

If you like what you see, adding the game to your wishlist would mean a lot to a developer who is still learning the ropes.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

I know many players have reservations about AI-generated content, so I want to be upfront about exactly how it was used in this game.

I'm an ordinary gamer who has played games for almost twenty years and always dreamed of making one of my own. But I can't write code, and I've never been trained in art or music. This game exists because generative AI filled those gaps for me: parts of the code were written with the help of AI coding tools; some character, environment, and UI art was created with image-generation models, then hand-picked and adjusted by me; some animation, music, and sound effects were also made with AI tools.

Everything that makes it an actual game, though — the design, the balancing, the game feel, and every "is this fun?" decision — was done by me, across hundreds of playtests. The game contains no live-generated AI content.

For me, AI wasn't an assembly line making a game in my place. It's what let an ordinary player finally build the game he'd been dreaming about. I hope some of that comes through when you play — and I'd genuinely welcome your feedback.
