What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Capy of Gods is fully playable, but I don't consider it finished yet. The Summit, the last chapter, can be played through to the ending, but it doesn't feed your progression yet: it has no unlocks or rewards of its own. That's where the new capybaras and items will be unlocked, and I also want to add an endless mode and more instincts. I want to design all of that around what players actually do: which builds dominate, which weapons nobody picks, what kind of capybara feels missing. I'm a solo developer, and Early Access lets me build the rest of the game with the people playing it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect around 3 to 6 months, to build the endless mode, The Summit's progression and the new capybaras with player feedback. This may change depending on development and player feedback, and I would rather extend Early Access than rush 1.0.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to add:
- Unlocks and rewards for The Summit, so playing the last chapter feeds your progression:
- New playable capybaras (currently 3 planned), each with their own weapon and passive.
- New items.
- An endless mode to see how far your build can go.
- More instincts.
- Balance and quality-of-life improvements based on community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently playable:
- 12 playable capybaras
- 3 chapters: The Tower (3 floors in 3 biomes), The Labyrinth (3 wide room-based levels in snow, desert and volcano) and The Summit, each with its own bosses
- 6 biomes and 20+ bosses
- 12 weapons, 26 instincts and 48 items to combine into builds
- Meta-progression with rubies: unlock characters, weapons, instincts and permanent attributes
- Secret trap rooms, challenge statues, shrines and side missions
- 4 difficulty levels and an overtime horde after minute 10
- Steam achievements, per-map leaderboards, controller support and 29 languages

Still in development: The Summit's unlocks (new capybaras and items), the endless mode, and ongoing balance.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I don't plan to raise the price at 1.0. All Early Access updates will be free for everyone who owns the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Bug reports, balance complaints and strange build ideas are all welcome. I read the Discord and the Steam forums myself and reply as often as I can: discord.gg/KsckWpZKXZ. Player feedback will directly shape what I build next: which weapons and instincts get reworked and what the endless mode should be. I plan to let the community vote on the order of the new capybaras, and a pinned thread will collect suggestions for The Summit's unlocks and items. Expect regular patches, with larger content updates when they're ready.”

About This Game

Climb the tower. Survive the horde. Become a god.

Capy of Gods is an action roguelike about a capybara climbing a colossal tower while waves of enemies try to drag it back down. It blends vertical platforming with automatic bullet heaven combat: you focus on climbing and dodging, your weapons fire on their own.

Every run is different. Every floor is fresh chaos.

⚔️ Fight as you climb
Your weapons attack automatically: you decide where to move, when to jump, and when to dash to dodge. Gain XP, level up, and pick from 3 upgrades: new weapons, animal instincts, and synergies that reshape your entire build.

🗼 A tower that builds itself
Platforms, traps, chests, secret rooms and biomes, all procedurally generated every run. Climb The Tower, cross The Labyrinth and reach The Summit across 6 biomes. You never climb the same tower twice.

👹 Bosses and semi-bosses
More than 20 bosses, from flying semi-bosses with unique attack patterns to floor bosses you summon when you're ready. Survive the horde… and whatever the horde is hiding.

💎 Persistent progression
Earn rubies every run and unlock permanent attributes, weapons, instincts, items, and new capybara characters, each with its own playstyle.

🎮 Easy to pick up, hard to put down
Simple controls, fast runs, deep decisions. Full keyboard and controller support.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Capy of Gods is built on the work of 22 independent pixel artists. Most of the enemies, bosses, weapons, effects and traps come from asset packs purchased on itch.io from creators like Admurin, Clembod, elesrech, Fellor, GandalfHardcore, Penusbmic and many more. Full credits are listed in the game.

As a solo developer, I used generative AI as a supplementary tool to create original content not covered by those asset packs, including some sprites, item icons, illustrations, sounds, and translations into languages beyond English and Spanish. Every AI-assisted visual was reviewed and repainted by hand to match the overall artistic style and my vision for the game.

Nothing is generated while you play.
