Why Early Access?

“Hackagon is a competitive multiplayer game, and games like this are shaped by their players. Balance, new cards, agents and modes all get better the more real matches we can watch and the more feedback we can act on. Early Access lets us grow the game together with the community instead of guessing in the dark.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect roughly six to twelve months. We would rather leave Early Access when the game feels complete than rush to meet a date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to grow the card pool and the agent roster, add new board layouts and area modifiers, and expand competitive play with ranked seasons. We are also planning quality of life work such as better onboarding and match history. The final shape of these features will depend on what we learn from the community during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable today. You can play online 1v1 through matchmaking or private lobbies, climb the solo ladder against AI opponents, complete the voiced tutorial, build decks around different agents, and progress through card unlocks and daily quests. Expect balance changes between updates; that is what this phase is for.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Hackagon is free to play during Early Access, and we plan to keep it free at full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We read everything. Balance discussions, bug reports and feature requests reach us through the Steam forums and our Discord, and we post regular development updates as patches ship. Match data helps guide balance work, but the strongest signal is always direct feedback from the people playing.”

HACKAGON is a free-to-play 1v1 cyber card battler built around simultaneous turns. Commit your cards before either side can react, read the plan hidden across the network, and seize control when every play reveals together.

Jump into online play for free. Queue for Ranked or Casual matchmaking, browse public lobbies, or create a private room for a direct challenge. Prefer to learn the system first? Fight adaptive AI before taking your deck online. Classic boards keep the fight focused, while Topology mode turns adjacency into a changing network graph.

Energy rises each turn, giving you more ways to spread pressure, reinforce a lead, or bait the other side. Most battles revolve around three contested areas, but the shape of the network can change. Stage your cards, revise the plan while the turn is open, then commit. Rules such as Honeypot, Air-Gapped, Quarantine, and Fortified keep every board tactically distinct.

MAKE THE REVEAL YOURS

Every card combines cost, power, and a tactical effect. DDoS floods an area and cuts enemy power, Worm spreads into adjacent areas, and Threat Mirror copies the strongest opposing card at its location. Effects resolve in a clear sequence, so a clever setup can overturn raw numbers and a single well-read turn can reshape the entire match.

BUILD A DECK. UNLOCK NEW AGENTS.

Choose Red offense or Blue defense, then build a 12-card deck from a growing pool of more than 60 Red, Blue, and neutral cards. Unlock agents with always-on abilities that shape how a deck plays before the first card is committed. Specialize in tempo, shields, disruption, scaling, or combine them into a plan of your own.

Enter FARADAY operations, receive CIPHER transmissions, and trace a threat moving through networks that should be dead. Mission paths introduce bespoke objectives, rewards, opponents, and rule combinations, turning the same competitive systems into authored tactical encounters.
