You arrive in a town that used to believe in something, and stopped. Everyone here is signed to a contract — some to the merchant houses, some to older things, and some without ever being asked. Yours was written before you were born.

A story you read, and a night you survive

Whispers of the Night is a visual novel with a turn-based RPG underneath it. Days are spent talking: to a woman who stopped believing in ethics, to an archivist bound to a record that was never in the church, to a clerk named Voss who will tell you that witnesses can be bought, and so can their silence. Nights are spent finding out what the town was sealing.

Choices that the town remembers

Conversations branch, and characters keep track. Warmth opens lines that stay closed to strangers; some answers close doors permanently.

Fights that are decisions, not reflexes

Turn-based combat built on energy, status effects and equipment sets. Poison, bleed, burn and stun run on both sides of the field — bring the wrong loadout to the wrong opponent and you will read about it in the combat log.

Dig, and the setting opens

Readable books, character files and lore entries unlock as you earn them. The Redsky Calamity, the Red Saint, the contract system itself — none of it is explained up front.

Fully bilingual

English and Turkish, switchable at any moment, mid-sentence if you like.

Some of the 2D artwork in this game — backgrounds and character illustrations — was created with AI image generation tools during development, then selected, edited and assembled by hand. Item, quest and interface icons are hand-picked game-icons.net glyphs (CC BY 3.0), not AI-generated. Parts of the code and the localized text were written with the help of an AI coding assistant and reviewed by the developer. All of it is finished, fixed content stored in the game files.

The game does not generate any content while you play. It contains no AI features, makes no network requests to AI services, and never sends your input anywhere.

Whispers of the Night is a dark fantasy visual novel with turn-based RPG combat. Players should be aware of the following.

Violence — mild and non-graphic. Combat is turn-based and menu-driven, resolved through numbers and status effects (Poison, Bleed, Burn, Stun) applied to static character art. There is no gore, no dismemberment and no blood spatter; defeat is conveyed by a line of text. The story refers to violence that happens off-screen — a massacre in the town's past, raiders who abduct villagers and burn farms, a murdered clerk — in dialogue rather than in imagery.

Themes. Death and grief, a historical catastrophe, inherited contracts that bind a family bloodline, and a sealed entity awakening. The tone is dread and melancholy throughout.

The game contains no nudity, no sexual content and no sexual imagery. There is light, non-sexual romantic tension with one character (Serena). The game contains no drug or alcohol use, and no depiction or discussion of self-harm or suicide.
