What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“EAT THE RICH is a live class-war economy: every pitchfork is a real, tradable
Steam Inventory item, every season is a short, declared arc with a real ending,
and every reward is a published, server-rolled probability. An economy like
this can only be balanced against real people — hoarders, flippers, idlers,
bot farms (yes, we know, the breadline welcomes them) — not against our test
bots alone. Early Access is Season 0: IN PREPARATION FOR REVOLUTION. The
comrades who join now are the ones the machine gets tuned around.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Seasons in EAT THE RICH are short and declared in advance (Season 0 runs on a
published 14-day cadence). We expect Early Access to last a small number of
seasons — weeks to a few months, not years. We plan to leave Early Access at
"Revolution's Eve" (1.0), when the live economy has survived enough seasons
that we trust its numbers in public.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version arms Season 1 and the arc the whole game points at: the
Revolution itself — the season finale where the pot is settled in public.
Between now and then, we plan for Early Access seasons to harden the economy (odds, faucets,
raid pricing) against live play, retire and mint season item lines, and grow
the cast of playable Workers and parody bosses. We ship simplifications as
proudly as additions: if a system confuses more than it pays, it goes to the
guillotine.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully playable, free, and economically live: the Breadline run loop (3-minute
shifts, death is the roll), PvP raids with your chosen Worker representing
you, a full roster of playable Workers with unlocks and levels, a working two-clock reward
system (online time seals Shift Chests; Breadline play arms guaranteed forks),
14-day seasons with retiring item lines, and Steam Inventory integration —
pitchforks are tradable and marketable items with published drop odds. Solo
raids, trades, and the full economy work today. Expect balance changes between
seasons; that is the point of Season 0.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game is free and stays free. No price change at 1.0. (Items players trade
on the Community Market are player-to-player; we never sell power.)”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Every season ends with a public ledger: what dropped, what retired, what the
odds actually were — our economy is auditable by design and we publish the
numbers. The Discord companion posts live season forecasts and verdicts, and
season-to-season changes are argued openly with the people playing. When the
comrades find a money pump, we don't ban them — we patch the pump and put
their exploit in the changelog. That is community involvement under class war.”

About This Game

WARNING: DO NOT PLAY IF YOU ARE IN THE 1%.

ANY RESEMBLANCE TO ACTUAL PERSONS, LIVING OR DEAD, IS YOUR INTERPRETATION.

THE DOLLAR IS DEAD

2036. President Tump Jr, America’s first tree president, declares $TUMP the national currency.

Money is worthless.

It is now the pitchfork economy.

THE PITCHFORK ECONOMY

Pitchforks drop randomly from the breadline.

Trade them with comrades on billionaire GabeN’s marketplace.

Use pitchforks to increase your net worth to buy more pitchforks.

And lose them when another comrade inevitably raids you.

BUILD THE MOB

EAT THE RICH is a free-to-play class-warfare idle clicker with survivors combat and the soul of a 2004 MMO.

Start with one worker and one wooden pitchfork. Your pitchfork throws itself. Click to throw harder.

Recruit farmers, beggars, miners, blacksmiths, match girls, washerwomen, agitators, and other workers. Every recruit fights beside you and multiplies your pitchfork power.

One worker becomes a crowd.

A crowd becomes an economy.

MAKE A BUILD. BREAK A BOSS.

Stack weapons, tomes, and uncapped loadouts while the Breadline fills with enemies.

Throw bricks. Swing guillotines. Weaponize tax audits, tomatoes, union drums, Molotovs, picket signs, and bees.

Fight speculators, landlords, trust-fund kids, private-equity ghouls, central bankers, tech oligarchs, and billionaire bosses. Crack open their chests. Collect the remains of unimaginable wealth. Wear the monocles.

Every run ends.

Class war does not.

EAT THE RICH

Defeat bosses. Open chests. Grow your mob. Take everything that was taken from you.

Or don't.

ROB THE POOR

Other players have vaults. Other players have pitchforks. Most importantly, other players may be poorer than you.

Raid them.

Build your defenses. Protect your pile. Climb the leaderboard. Every victory makes you wealthier, and every bit of wealth makes you somebody else's rich—without ever letting you leave the Breadline.

The revolution has no moral alignment.

The leaderboard only sees net worth.

  • Click to throw pitchforks or idle while your mob fights

  • Recruit and grow a visible army of workers

  • Stack weapons, tomes, and uncapped loadouts

  • Fight satirical elites and billionaire bosses

  • Earn ranked death chests and collectible trophies

  • Raid rival vaults and defend your own

  • Farm tradable pitchforks through chests and seasonal drops

  • Keep and trade eligible finds through Steam Inventory

  • Unlock 100 Steam achievements

Eat the rich or rob the poor.

Become the 1% of the 99%.
