About This Game

Fell From the Sky. Landed in Lynbury.

The sky cracked open just as the midday sun hit its highest point, right as the Snailfolk were preparing for their yearly food festival. Oliver Oddshell swears he saw it first, watching something fall out of the sky and land in the dirt. They had prayed for good food this year. What they got was you, torn straight out of a school science experiment gone wrong and dropped somewhere far from home.

The Snailfolk welcomed you like they'd been expecting you all along, and even gave you a room of your own. Soon enough you're cooking food, wandering hills, delivering meals, and exploring the mysterious world of Lynbury, slowly but surely feeling right at home.

A successful hike is won before the first step is taken. Prepare carefully by planning your route, checking the weather, choosing suitable clothing, and packing everything you'll need for the day. The hills reward those who come prepared, but even the smallest oversight can turn a peaceful hike into a challenging journey home.

Every step costs something. Stamina drains as you walk, faster still if you're hungry, thirsty, or tired. Dress for the weather, choose your path, and pace yourself. Every decision shapes the journey ahead. Before long, it's just you, a pack on your back, and the hike ahead.

Every hill hides something worth finding. A forgotten picnic spot, an old shepherd's hut, a chest tucked beneath the roots of an ancient oak, or a winding path you've never noticed before. Curiosity is always rewarded, and there's always another reason to see what's beyond the next hill

There's nothing quite like coming home. Light the fire, cook dinner, tidy the cottage, water the garden, care for your pets, wash the day's muddy clothes, or lose yourself in a good book. However you choose to spend your evenings, home is yours to make your own.

A good meal can go a long way. Follow step-by-step recipes as you prepare hearty countryside dishes using fresh ingredients gathered along your journey. Cook to keep yourself well-fed on long hikes, enjoy a comforting meal back at your cottage, or lend a hand to the Snailfolk, whose delightfully odd requests often reward both a full purse and a grateful smile.

At the Heart of the Hills lies Lynbury. Everything you'd hope to find in a charming little village is here: cozy shops, a welcoming pub, a beautiful river, centuries old stone buildings, and a magnificent church overlooking the village. The only unusual part is the residents happen to be talking snails. Then again, the whole world is like that, and before long, you'll wonder why you ever thought it was unusual.. So get used to it!
