What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to develop The Unskilled together with our players. The game already offers the core platforming experience, featuring challenging levels, deadly traps, boss battles, and precise controls that provide a solid and playable foundation.

Our goal during Early Access is to make this foundation stronger, more balanced, and even more enjoyable. With player feedback, we plan to improve character controls, level design, difficulty balancing, boss encounters, and the overall gameplay flow.

In challenging platformers, even small gameplay adjustments can significantly affect the overall player experience. Rather than developing The Unskilled entirely behind closed doors, we want it to grow alongside our community. Throughout Early Access, we will prepare the game for its full release by adding new content, fixing bugs, and continuously refining the gameplay experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect The Unskilled to remain in Early Access for approximately 3 to 6 months. During this time, we aim to improve the controls, level design, boss battles, game balance, and overall user experience based on player feedback.

This timeframe may change depending on the development process and the feedback we receive. Our priority is not to release the game as quickly as possible, but to deliver a higher-quality, better-balanced, and more satisfying platforming experience.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We intend for the full release of The Unskilled to offer a much more complete experience in terms of content.

We plan to add more levels, new biomes, additional enemy types, more boss battles, extra trap mechanics, hidden areas, and additional content to discover.

We also aim to improve character animations, visual effects, sound design, the user interface, and overall performance.

By continuously improving level design, difficulty progression, game feel, and the overall player experience based on community feedback, we aim to deliver a more complete and rewarding platforming adventure in the full release.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of The Unskilled already provides the game's core platforming experience in a fully playable state.

Players will progress through deadly trap-filled levels, master precise platforming mechanics, discover hidden areas, and take on challenging boss battles.

The current version includes the core gameplay loop, essential level progression, boss encounters, a save system, and the basic user interface.

Throughout Early Access, we will continue adding new levels, new enemies, new bosses, visual improvements, performance optimizations, gameplay balancing, and many other features designed to improve the overall player experience.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not plan to change the price of The Unskilled during or after Early Access.

Players who purchase the game during Early Access will pay the same price as players who purchase the full release. Our goal is to reward players with additional content and improvements throughout development without increasing the game's price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will play an important role in the development of The Unskilled. As we fix bugs, improve game balance, and prioritize new features, we will carefully consider player suggestions.

In particular, we want to gather feedback on level design, boss battles, difficulty balancing, game feel, and future content planned for the game.

We plan to collect feedback through the Steam Community Hub, user reviews, discussion forums, our Discord server, and our social media channels.”

About This Game

Every step is a trap. Every death is a lesson.

This is not a fair platformer.
The floor collapses. Spikes strike from nowhere. Safe paths become death traps the second you trust them. The only way forward is through failure, memory, and stubborn determination.

🔥 Learn Through Failure
Every level is designed to surprise you. Hidden traps, fake-safe jumps, collapsing platforms, and perfectly timed hazards wait for the exact moment you let your guard down. You will fail. A lot. But every death teaches you something new.

⚠️ Expect the Unexpected
The game constantly plays with your expectations. A harmless wall might crush you. A checkpoint could be bait. A jump you've already survived once may suddenly become deadly. Nothing stays predictable for long.

🎮 Precision Platforming
Tight controls and fast respawns keep the action flowing. Every jump matters, every movement counts, and every mistake is punished instantly. Mastering a level feels less like luck and more like surviving a war against the game itself.

😈 Troll Traps Everywhere
This world hates confidence. The moment you think you've figured the game out, it finds a new way to destroy you. Traps trigger from impossible angles, hazards appear at the perfect worst moment, and every level is built to break your instincts.

🧠 Memorize. Adapt. Survive.
Progress comes from observation and persistence. Watch carefully, remember everything, and slowly turn impossible levels into mastered runs. The path to victory is paved with your previous deaths.

🏆 Satisfaction Earned the Hard Way
Reaching the end of a level is more than completion — it's revenge. Every impossible jump, every unfair trap, every last-second death only makes victory feel better.

Features:

💀 Brutal trap-based platforming designed to surprise and punish

⚡ Instant respawns for fast retry-focused gameplay

📈 Increasingly chaotic and difficult level design

🏆 Extremely satisfying progression through mastery and persistence
