About This Game

A monster RPG that lives on your taskbar.

Monto: TB or not TB is a taskbar companion idle RPG built to stay beside your daily desktop life. Choose a stage and your Monto keeps fighting the enemies there, defeats the stage boss, collects loot, and starts the same stage again while the game is running.

Progress stops when you close the game or turn off your PC. There are no offline rewards. Your Monto grows only while the game is open.

Build for PvP. Push higher in PvE.

PvP is asynchronous and build-driven. Set your defense build, challenge other players, and watch server-simulated battles unfold. Gear, stats, skills, evolution forms, and elemental matchups shape every result and determine how far you climb in the seasonal rankings.

In PvE, each stage has its own Monto families, enemies, bosses, and drop pool. Farm the stages that contain the Monto Eggs, Soul Pieces, materials, and gear you need, then push into harder stages, Infernal tiers, and PvE leaderboards.

Choose a stage and keep progressing.

Your Monto stays active in the stage you choose until you change the target or close the game. Check in for a few seconds to compare a rare drop, switch gear, adjust a skill, use a food buff, or choose a different stage.

Hatch new Montos and unlock stronger forms.

Hunt for Monto Eggs, gather Soul Pieces, hatch new Montos, and unlock stronger evolution forms with skill points and rare materials. Every Monto becomes a long-term project shaped by its level, skill tree, element, gear, and evolution path.

Loot that changes how you play.

Find gear across multiple tiers, compare affixes, equip the pieces that fit your strategy, and salvage what you do not need. Use runes and scrolls to add, remove, reroll, or lock affixes on promising drops. Build for boss damage, survival, speed, resource farming, or specific PvP matchups.

Trade valuable drops on the Steam Community Market.

At launch, selected valuable drops such as Monto Eggs, high-roll gear, and Unique Evolution Items can be traded through the Steam Community Market. Hatch an Egg to turn it into a bound Monto, keep a powerful item for your own build, or trade a valuable find with another player.

Power circulates through the player economy. The developer does not directly sell best-in-slot gear or evolution power.

Made for desktop life.

Monto is designed to stay close without taking over your screen. Keep it beside your work, browse your drops between tasks, make a quick build or PvP adjustment, and let the selected stage continue while the game remains open.
