About This Content

The Bf 109 Z-1 is a unique twin-fuselage aircraft, literally made from two Bf 109s! Its design comes from a heavy fighter project, intended as an alternative to the Bf 110, then under development. It was hoped that by standardizing production, larger quantities of this fighter model could be produced.

Designed to disrupt the bulk of Allied attack aircraft, the Bf 109 Z-1 is generously armed with four 30mm MK 108 autocannons. This means even the heaviest bomber would be unable to withstand an MG barrage! This heavy fighter boasts a top speed of 420 mph (680 km/h) at an altitude of 21,500 ft (6,500 m) and a respectable climb rate and maneuverability for an aircraft of its class. Its external armament consists of 250 kg (550 lb) high-explosive and incendiary bombs, which are unlocked after completing in-game missions.
