About This Game

There is no prophecy. No destiny. No Chosen One.

There is only Vaelthara, an unforgiving continent of warring cultures, buried secrets, and your own ambition. You are nobody. What you become is up to you.

You Are Not the Chosen One is a single-player, turn-based RPG styled like a lost 1981 sword-and-sorcery film. Build a character, take to the road, and write your own chronicle through the choices you make and the enemies you outlast.

Become Someone

Choose from seven playable races and eight classes, then shape your character across a deep skill system. Time and age ravage you as the world remembers your deeds, awarding fame, infamy, and standing across the kingdoms of the continent. Cut your way to glory, or never draw a blade at all. Hire mercenaries and corner the spice trade, then watch prices collapse when you flood the market. Conquer, scheme, or trade your way to a name. The choices are yours, and so are the consequences.

A Continent to Cross

Travel a continental-scale map of distinct realms and cultures, by road or by sea. Enter cities to visit the tavern, the arena, the temple, and more. Each is its own entryway into the deep lore of Vaelthara's many races and realms.

Fight to Survive

Turn-based combat built on a transparent system of rolls and modifiers, where weapon choice, armor, positioning, and nerve all matter. No difficulty sliders. The world does not scale down to meet you.

Scheme, Gamble, and Climb

Take honest work or dirty work. Bet on arena champions, smuggle forged documents, hunt deserters for the governor's bounty, or chase rumors into the dark. Every chronicle is a different path from nobody to a name.
