Ink stains the page as chaos begins. From obscurity to a life recorded, clashes decide life or death as rumors weave ties and grudges. Through childhood, uprising, and struggle, your origins, choices, and defiance shape a chronicle unlike any other. One run. One life. One chronicle.

About This Game

A Chronicle Written Line by Line

Every run in One Life, One Chronicle becomes a life story written one line at a time.

  • Once a name, origin, and five defining attributes are set, that person’s life begins to unfold.

  • From village roads and clan schools to marketplaces, relief granaries, forges, and magistrates’ offices, every choice, victory, defeat, and turn of fate is faithfully recorded in the chronicle.

  • Shifting attributes, items gained or lost, injuries, and stains upon one’s name do more than fill its pages—they continue to shape later events, future battles, and the final appraisal of that life.

A Battle Plan Rebuilt Fight by Fight

Unlike conventional turn-based deckbuilders, One Life, One Chronicle allows you to rebuild your battle plan before every fight.

  • Before combat begins, you can freely assemble a new loadout from the cards, traits, and items acquired over the course of that life.

  • The authorities, bandits, and supernatural threats each bring dangers of their own. A strategy that prevailed in one battle may falter in the next.

  • Your hand is not discarded at the end of the turn, and Qi does not automatically refill. Holding key cards, banking resources, and choosing the right moment to strike are all part of the deckbuilding.

A Contest of Move and Countermove

Built around a shared ruleset, both player and enemy fight under the same combat system.

  • Both sides have a hand, Qi, Guard, status effects, and a clearly defined order of play.

  • The enemy’s planned actions for the current turn are laid face-up on the table, allowing you to see exactly how it intends to act.

  • Open information does not mean easy answers. How you allocate limited resources, neutralize incoming threats, and prepare your counterattack still depends on your judgment and your build.
