What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I'm a solo developer, and Fail Games is built to make you fail — a lot. The catch is that I can only guess at how players will actually break, rage at, and fall in love with it. Early Access fixes that. I want player feedback driving the difficulty tuning and, most importantly, deciding which minigames come next. The roster grows based on what the community wants to lose at. Simple as that.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect Fail Games to be in Early Access for roughly 3 to 6 months. As a solo developer, I want to keep things moving fast while leaving enough time to add minigames, balance the difficulty around real win rates, and grow the coin and cosmetic systems. The exact timing depends on player feedback and how quickly the roster takes shape.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to expand the minigame roster well beyond the launch lineup, with player input directly shaping which games I build next — that feedback loop is the main reason I'm going Early Access at all. I also plan to grow the coin reward system with more cosmetics, effects, and alternate modes, deepen the leaderboard and win-rate tracking, and add more of the gory, comedic fail animations the game runs on. As a solo dev, I want to stay flexible, so some of these plans may shift as the game evolves.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is fully playable and built around its core loop: hold a button, release, and watch yourself succeed or (much more likely) die in spectacular fashion. Several minigames are in, each with its own one-button mechanic, shifting environment variables, and instant retry. The unlock progression, coin-on-fail rewards, and win-rate tracking all work today. What's still growing is the size of the roster, the depth of the cosmetics, and the range of fail animations — and that's exactly where I want player input to steer me. It's a complete, lean experience right now, just smaller than what I'm building toward.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to raise the price when the game leaves Early Access and the roster has grown. Everyone who joins during Early Access gets it at the lowest price and receives all future updates as part of their purchase.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community can vote, suggest, and improve minigame ideas before I commit to building them in the Steam forums. The roster grows based on what people actually want to fail at.

I'll watch the data closely too — win rates, where people give up, which games people replay obsessively versus drop out of frustration. If a minigame is too easy, too hard, or just not fun to lose, the (optional) data from your play sessions will help me balance everything.”

About This Game

So easy your grandma could play it. So hard you'll want to throw your PC out the window.

One button. Five seconds. Each time a 1-in-100 shot at glory.

FAIL GAMES is a collection of brutally precise one-button minigames inspired by the classic summer and winter sports games of the C64 era, stripped down to their funniest form.

You will fail.

You will fail again.

One more try? Fail again.

Fast Runs. Endless Retries.

Most attempts take only a few seconds.

You'll release the button, watch your jump unfold, and think: "This is the one."

Then a bird hits your face. Or the wind changes. Or you break a leg hitting the cliff.

Every run is quick, every failure is funny, and every near miss makes "just one more try" impossible to resist.

Many Ways To Fail

Once you succeed in a minigame you will unlock the next one. Discover many different minigames, each with their own surprises and hazards. Can you unlock them all?

Even Failure Pays
