What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“RR: A New Semester is still actively in development, and Early Access allows players to help shape the game's future. By releasing early, I can gather feedback, identify bugs, and prioritize the features that matter most to the community. This will help me create a more polished, stable, and enjoyable experience by the time of the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game is expected to remain in Early Access for at least two years.

As a solo developer, I'm building a platform that includes user-generated content (UGC), custom rooms/spaces, and many planned features. These systems take time to develop properly, and I don't want to rush them. My goal is to take the time needed to deliver a high-quality experience rather than release an unfinished, messy product.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full release is planned to offer a much more complete and polished experience than the Early Access version.

During Early Access, I plan to expand the room creation tools with more building options and customization features, giving creators/devs greater freedom to design and share their own spaces. I also plan to add more character customization, improve performance and stability across supported platforms, and continue refining the overall gameplay experience based on community feedback.

Another major goal is to provide easy-to-use modding tools, allowing developers to extend the game with their own content and features. While plans may evolve throughout development, my focus is on creating a flexible platform that continues to grow alongside its community.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version already includes the core online experience and is fully playable.

Current features include:

* Friend system
* Party system
* Private messaging
* Game invites
* Player accounts and profiles
* Multiplayer support
* Room Creation tools

While the game foundation is already in place, development is ongoing. Throughout Early Access, I plan to expand the game's content, as mentioned above.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“RR: A New Semester is free to play, and there are currently no plans to charge for the game during or after Early Access. Players will continue to receive updates and new content for free as development continues.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback already plays a major role throughout the development of RR: A New Semester!

Players can report bugs, suggest new features, share room creations, and provide general feedback through the Steam Community, Discord, and other community channels. This feedback helps prioritize improvements, quality-of-life updates, bug fixes, and future features throughout Early Access.

As a solo developer, community input is invaluable in helping shape the game into the best experience it can be.
