What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Ad Reditus is a big game built by one person, and the part that matters most, how a run feels and whether the choices land, only gets better with real players. I want to build the back half of this game with the people playing it. Early Access lets me ship what's solid now, hear where it drags or breaks, and shape what comes next around that instead of guessing. The roundtrip structure is unusual enough that I'd rather tune it in the open.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Roughly a year, give or take. I'd rather take the time to get the full set of factions, paths, and the return journey right than rush a date. If it's ready sooner, it ships sooner.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version widens the game considerably. Early Access ships with two playable factions; the full version adds the other two, each with its own deck and mechanics. It also opens up more of the choices at the altar beyond the two available at launch, the complete set of corruption and cleansed card variants, and a hidden path for players who walk the whole road without giving in to the ring. More enemies, more events, more sacraments, and a lot of art still being hand-drawn. The core loop won't change. It'll just get deeper and wider.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“It's a complete, playable game from start to finish. You pick a faction, build a deck across the full pilgrimage, make the choice at the altar, and fight your way home. Two factions are in, with 200+ cards, 100+ hand-drawn enemies, a working corruption system, sacraments, shops, events, and bosses across the journey out and back. It's balanced enough to be fun and beatable.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the price will likely rise as the game grows toward the full version. Early Access players buy in at the lower price and get every update along the way.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“There's an in-game feedback button, a Discord I manage, and I patch regularly based on what people run into. Most of what gets fixed, rebalanced, or added between now and the full version will come from players telling me what's broken, what's boring, and what they want more of. The whole reason I'm doing this in the open is to build the rest of it with real players. ”

About This Game

Ad Reditus is a roundtrip roguelike deckbuilder set on a folk-medieval pilgrimage. You walk a sacred road carrying the Cordis, a covenant ring forged for many, now yours alone. It does not corrupt you with darkness. It corrupts you with the belief that you are enough on your own.

Build on the way out. Pick a faction: the communal Grenfolk of the Moot, or the blood-and-fire devotion of Ordo Sanguis, and assemble a deck across five stages of trials, shops, events, and bosses. Each faction plays to its own engine: feast and fellowship, or sacrifice and zeal.

Choose what it becomes on the way back. At the altar of Alta Sacra, you decide the ring's fate, and the road home is not the road you came in on. The return journey reshapes your deck, your companion, and the things that hunt you.

The Cordis changes you whether you want it to or not. Use its power and corruption climbs, crossing milestones that rewrite your run, some a gift, most a price. Your companion is the anchor: a reminder that the covenant was never meant for one.

  • Two playable factions with distinct mechanics and decks

  • 200+ cards, hand-drawn enemies, a corruption system that bites

  • A two-way journey: a forward pilgrimage and a transformed return

  • 30–45 minute runs, built for "one more"

Ad Reditus is in active development toward Early Access. Wishlist to be notified when it launches.
