About This Game

Build by day. Hold the line by night. Make it to dawn.

Unburied is a dark fantasy top-down tower-defense roguelite. Play solo or team up online with up to three friends. The Unburied King is dead, but he cannot rest. His legion carries him home along the old funeral road, and the dead rise from their graves to join the procession. You aren't here to see him home. You're here to keep the vigil.

Gather wood and stone by day. Raise palisades, build arrow towers and light campfires around your keep, then recruit and upgrade your soldiers. Prepare every stretch of your defenses before darkness falls.

At night, the dead come from every side: they ram the gate, climb the walls and surround your captain. Towers fire, soldiers hold the breaches, and you charge in where the line needs you most.

Each of the five captain classes has a defensive ability activated with Space: Shield Block, Brace Spear, Bow Shove, Scatter Blast and Arcane Barrier. When the dead close in, time your ability to give yourself and your defenses room to breathe.

Choose one of three upgrades each night and shape your build as the nights unfold. During a run, your captain can ascend into a new form and unleash an ultimate ability against the horde.

Hold the line solo or team up online with up to three friends. Colored rings beneath each player help you spot your allies at a glance. Split up to defend key positions, then support one another with your captains' different abilities.

Hold out until sunrise and the dead crumble to ash where they stand.

• First Alarm: gather resources by day, raise palisades, and hold the keep through the night.
• The Felled Woods: cut a road through the trees, light campfires along the way, and survive the final battle in the guard rings at the ash mouth.
• Night Without Walls: no palisades. Assign your soldiers to the north, east and south guard rings and hold until dawn.
• Blood Moon Hunt: under a red moon, the dead come from every side. Hunt them down and fight your way through to rescue trapped survivors.
• The Bursting Front: a bone colossus marches on your gate. Seal the breach and bring it down.
• Endless Trial: a vigil with no final night. Set guard rings around the keep and see how many nights your defenses can withstand.

The full game is planned to take you farther along the funeral road, from the frontier outpost into the Black Mist Forest and onward to the Red Moon Barrows. Planned features include five captain classes, mid-run ascension and ultimate abilities, battle gear and engravings unlocked as the nights progress, and an endless vigil with no final night.
