What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Roguelite and bullet heaven games thrive on deep synergies, balance, and build variety. As a solo developer, perfectly balancing hundreds of spell combinations, rune interactions, and the difficulty curve of the Endless mode entirely on my own is a massive challenge. Early Access allows me to invite the community into the process, letting your feedback directly shape the balancing, game feel, and overall direction to create the most polished experience possible.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan to keep the game in Early Access for approximately 9 to 12 months. This timeframe should give me enough time to roll out our planned content updates, carefully analyze community feedback, and refine the endgame systems. However, this duration might change depending on how the game evolves with player input.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“My main goal for the full version is to drastically expand the variety and the sheer chaos of the game. I plan to introduce many new spells, mages with brand-new elemental tags, a wider variety of runes, and countless new synergy combinations for players to discover. Alongside these, I aim to add new challenges and mechanics that will push the builds to their limits, ultimately delivering a much more chaotic, deep, and fun experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core gameplay loop is fully playable, engaging, and stable. Players can already jump into action, level up, combine various elemental spells, and fight massive hordes of enemies. The current build features multiple unique playable mage characters, a solid variety of spells, elite enemy encounters, and a fully functional meta progression system (including account upgrades and the Treasure Wheel). The Endless mode is also active for players seeking an extreme challenge.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will remain the same throughout the entire Early Access period. However, I plan to increase the price slightly once the game leaves Early Access and reaches its full 1.0 release. Purchasing during Early Access is a great way to get the game at a lower price while supporting my ongoing development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will be the driving force behind our updates. I plan to actively communicate with our players through Steam Discussions. I will be listening closely to bug reports, balance feedback, and suggestions for new spells, runes, and character concepts. Player experiences will directly influence our patch notes and upcoming content roadmaps.”

About This Game

FIRE AND FROST DON'T MIX

Try them together anyway.

Wizard's Path: Palette of Spells is a survivors-like action roguelite where the spells you choose determine what kind of mage you become.

Fight through growing swarms of enemies, collect XP, level up, and build your own combination of spells. As your build takes shape, you'll discover a mage identity based on the magic types you've chosen.

You can focus entirely on one type of magic or experiment with combinations that take your build in a completely different direction.

14+ MAGIC TYPES. 470+ MAGES.

Fire. Frost. Storm. Arcane. Blood. Shadow. Holy. Nature. Death. Summoner. Growth. Chaos. Greed. Challenger.

Each magic type offers different spells and ways to build your character.

Specializing in a single type lets you reach higher spell levels, while combining two or three types gives you access to more abilities and different interactions.

There are over 470 mage identities to discover, each with its own name, passives, progression, and leaderboard records.

You might find a combination that works surprisingly well. Or spend an entire run trying to make something ridiculous work.

Both are part of the fun.

30+ RUNES THAT CHANGE HOW YOU PLAY

Before each run, choose up to three runes from more than 30 available to unlock.

Runes aren't just stat bonuses. They change how a run works, often giving you a powerful advantage in exchange for a serious drawback.

Rune of the Martyr

Start with five times your normal maximum health, but lose the ability to heal for the entire run. No regeneration, lifesteal, or other healing effects.

Pandemonium

Your damage varies between 1% and 500%, while incoming damage varies between 1% and 250%. Every hit becomes unpredictable, whether you're dealing damage or taking it.

Rune of Malice

Increase enemy spawn rate and the enemy cap by 150%, without gaining any direct stat bonuses. You'll have far more enemies to deal with, but also more opportunities to earn XP and gold.

Most runes are unlocked by mastering their associated magic types, while others require completing specific challenges and achievements.

Different rune combinations can completely change how you approach a run, even when playing the same mage.

OTHER PLAYERS' GRAVES

Sometimes you'll come across a grave left behind by another player.

Break it open and you can temporarily bring their fallen mage back to fight alongside you. Their health depends on the fallen player's run, and they'll only stay with you for a limited time.

It's a chance to get some extra help from another player's adventure, even if theirs didn't end particularly well.

WORLD EVENTS

Not every run follows the same pattern.

World events can interrupt your run and change what's happening on the battlefield.

Enemies might suddenly start exploding when killed. A Blood Stone might appear. A slime army could invade, or a Chronomancer might stop time and challenge you directly.

You can even encounter a champion based on one of your own previous runs, with additional health determined by how many enemies you killed during that run.

Some events give you new opportunities. Others make surviving much harder.

ENDLESS MODE AND LEADERBOARDS

Want to see how far your build can go?

Endless Mode lets you continue fighting against increasingly powerful enemies, pushing your build until you can no longer survive.

There are also special events you can only encounter in Endless Mode. I'll leave those for you to discover.

Your kill count is recorded on the global leaderboard, but there's also a separate leaderboard for every mage identity.

That means you can compete for the overall highest kill count or try to set a record with your favorite mage.

With hundreds of different mages, there's plenty of room to experiment with builds that other players might have overlooked.

ENDLESS TRIAL

Endless Trial is a separate wave-based mode with no final boss or exit. You survive for as many waves as you can.

Starting at wave 14, every third wave forces you to choose one of three handicaps. Your choice stays active for the rest of the run.

There are 18 different handicaps, and each can stack up to three levels.

As the waves progress, you'll have to deal with both stronger enemies and the disadvantages you've accumulated along the way.

Your highest wave is recorded on a separate global leaderboard.

DISCOVER, UNLOCK, AND GROW YOUR MAGES

Discovering a mage during a run is only the beginning.

Defeat a boss after transforming into that mage, and you'll unlock it permanently. You can then select it at level 1 when starting future runs, without having to recreate the same spell combination.

Every mage has its own progression and passives, giving you reasons to return to the ones you enjoy playing.

You'll also earn gold during runs to spend on permanent unlocks and upgrades.

There are challenges that change your starting conditions, runes to unlock, records to beat, and plenty of magic combinations left to discover.

Also included:

  • Permanent upgrades and unlocks

  • Challenges with different starting rules

  • Individual mage progression

  • 16 supported languages
