Five hundred years ago, a global nuclear war triggered the reversal of a "nuclear winter"—uncontrolled greenhouse effects and thousands of underwater nuclear explosions turned Earth into a water world. Today's oceans are a highly acidic, radioactive hell, where no life can survive except for mutated deep-sea leviathans.

We are the last of humanity. We wield blades forged from scrap of the old world, clad in armor stitched from mutated beast hides, struggling on this isolated island shrouded in pollution.

The only hope lies at the highest point of the island, a place legendary as the "Quantum Dome." According to archives from the old world, it was the launch silo for the Ark and the sole wormhole leading to extraterrestrial colonies.
